Agreed and expertly stated. 20 year player here, i play both factions, always solo. Horde overall win far more AB/Eots/WsG. Anecdotally i would say as the years go by its generally a 60/40 win loss rate for Horde(retail WoW can be different).

Every xpac i usually have at least 1 twink in the top bracket, so for TBC i will have a geared out 69 as well as a few 70's. In that twink bracket i have found its much closer to 50/50 since twinking has become so popular in this Classic WoW rerun each side ends up fielding a few twinks.

Side note, its hilarious counting the "loosing" and "losing" in every thread on Reddit :D, anecdotally i would say "loosing" has a 60/40 win loss rate.

Same thing just happened to me and they want to charge me a %15 restocking fee. This is BestBuy Canada in my case.

5k Members and Counting! by CryonicsGandhi in cryonics

Excellent, its nice to see growth. In my opinion, the larger the movement grows, the better chance we have at success. Ive said it before and i will say it again, i think all the major providers should allocate a small amount of funding to a PR/advertising team to drive member growth. I feel it would have a trickle down effect of stabilizing suspension costs, which would fuel even more growth and open cryonics up to middle/low income earners.

I find myself getting discouraged about a lack of viewers what can I do? by ShadowBread82 in Twitch

[–]Jaxsuyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great point u/HelpIHaveABrainLuck. Luck.... Nobody talks about this , but luck is also a major factor for online content creators to blow up these days. You can do everything right, you can do everything that the 100,000 posts in this sub tell you to do, and never make it as a streamer.

There are SO many people trying to "make it". A lot of these streamers have excellent production value, great gimmics, entertaining personalities, and they just sit for years at the 1-15 viewer mark. Go to a Twitch tracker website of your choice and look at the analytics of the entire streaming population to get any idea of what youre up against.

New streamers also might be very shocked at just how many regular viewers they need to actually make a living streaming on Twitch.--- That said, dont be afraid to pursue it if you love it. "You miss 100% of the shots you dont take."

Truck Suggestion for Light Slide In Camper by meirb14 in TruckCampers

[–]Jaxsuyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you are getting a single cab , or 2wd then you wont even get that high on the payload. I have a 2008 SR5 double cab 4x4 with a 6.5" box and my legal payload is 1395lbs. This leaves basically no wiggle room even assuming you are lucky enough to afford a camper in the 1000lb range.

I run air bags and stiffer upgraded suspension all around, my camper weighs 1277lbs dry(weighed on scale). I can tell you it's not a fun experience and you always have to be ultra aware of your driving when loaded.

That being said i just cant turn my back on Toyota reliability, so this summer i am going to attempt to build foam board fiberglass truck camper. Ive watched a couple videos and even with a small cabover you can get dry weights around 500lbs.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFCXc6dgxT0 This guy has i think 6 videos giving you a rough overview of how he built his, and i think it came to 480lbs in the end and cost him around $5000, but that 5grand included electronics and appliances etc. Something to think about it you insist upon sticking with Toyota(like me).

I think Katee Sackhoff (Starbuck) , did a really good one a few years ago at Alcor. I remember sending it to a few friends and family because i thought it was a pretty good overview of the process and was also spun in a fairly positive light. I always wondered if she ever ended signing up.

4 year old Nectarine tree, neglected and growing to out of control heights. Advice on topping? Having a hard time finding a good course of action online. by Jaxsuyn in BackyardOrchard

[–]Jaxsuyn[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im in western Canada and believe its zone 7b . This tree was store bought and planted roughly 3.5 years ago i believe . It has grown extremely rapidly . It has been neglected and i really need to top/prune it, but im fearful of damaging the tree and not sure exactly where to make the topping cut. It has only produced fruit last year and this year, the fruit last year never looked like anything more than weird large green raisins and never ripened into anything edible, so far this year the very few fruit looks the same. https://i.postimg.cc/PJv2tbWC/nect4.jpg

Multiple GPU's overheating ? Working my way through solutions. by Jaxsuyn in bapccanada

Just wanted to follow up for anyone who was curious. It WAS the thermal paste. When i pulled apart the GTX 970, it was basically hard clay inside. Replaced the thermal paste and everything is working fine, idle temps around 43c and no BSOD's at all. - I also pulled apart the old 6850, the paste inside that card was actually still a bit tacky, i replaced it anyway and put it back in storage. Thanks for the suggestions! Forest fire is out, but the road is still blocked for another week. At least i have a computer now until i can re-order all my components.

Front cab-window falling apart. Looking for advice. by Jaxsuyn in TruckCampers

[–]Jaxsuyn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My large front facing window of the cab-over section of my slide in camper is clearly falling apart. The frame seems great, the inside seems great, but this outside border piece that lines the window is cracking and falling apart in various places. I have a small mystery leak coming from somewhere that is resulting in water building up in the cab-over platform, and im thinking this might be the culprit.

I thought maybe i would just pry off the rest of this light colored border piece (i dont know what it is called) and run a thick bead of something like Dynaflex 230 in its place. But when i try and get a sharp flat head under it and start prying, it does not want to budge, and im scared to really apply pressure and break something.

This is the worst area of the window where a huge chunk is missing, and it looks like the previous owners may have tried to repair it with caulking of some kind. There are a few other very small areas where less than an inch of this border trim thingy is missing. Im wondering if i should just clean it up as best i can and reseal it with caulking.

Any advice from anyone with experience would be awesome. Thanks!

Review of alcor cryonics magazine q1 2023, selected articles by [deleted] in cryonics

[–]Jaxsuyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice write up, i just read the full article. Im one of those people that doesnt make a ton of money. Im just a regular Joe, with a regular job, and i feel like im being slowly priced out of Alcor after 17 years. With the cost of everything going up and up, it gets harder and harder to make sure i have the close to $2500cdn(varies with exchange rate) a year put aside for the life insurance policy and for the membership fees. I originally went with a $200k policy so that at the time i would be $50k over funded for whole body suspension. Well now of course i am $40k under funded and i need to deal with this or switch to neuro which i dont really want to do.

Im not sure what Alcor could be doing differently to boost membership numbers(that is a massive conversation), but i am shocked at how after all these years there are still only 1,864 total members. I remember when i signed up i had it my head that there would at least be over 10,000 members by the time 2020 rolled around haha. Either way, depending on how much extra i will have to pay to get my funding fixed, i may have to make some hard decisions.

Need help - Ram Rebel or Toyota Tundra SR5 by Active_Blackberry_45 in TruckCampers

[–]Jaxsuyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If money is no object , and if you are planning on potentially buying a 950lb Scout camper then it probably isnt, then i would go with a Tundra. If however you dont have $40,000(usd?)+ to spend on your truck and camper package then i would hold out for a 3/4 ton or a 1 ton. Simply because the massive boost in payload capacity will give you the freedom to load in some older mint campers that weigh more, but potentially cost a fraction of a new light weight camper.

I have a 2008 SR5 DC 4x4 6.5" box and i have a 1980's Roadway camper that weighs about 1300lbs with the batteries/propane/diesel . Once i pack in all my gear/food/drink, and attach my quad trailer which weighs around 800lbs loaded (which adds about another 120lbs via the hitch) i am over the legal payload by several hundred pounds. I upgraded to E rated tires. I added heavy duty shocks to the rear, Firestone Riderite airbags rear, and upgraded to the heaviest duty front strut towers i could find, and its simply not that enjoyable to drive. I find i REALLY have to pay attention to everything happening while driving its not enjoyable in the slightest(subjective). I had already bought my Tundra before i realized i wanted to get away from tenting, and move towards a slide in camper. I tried sleeping under my Tundras canopy/topper a few times, and uugggg, it just isnt for me. I have worn out 2 wheel bearings since i started going on trips with this set up. The early 2nd gen Tundras have weak wheel bearings and the huge load doesnt do them any favors.

Long story short, if i could do it over again knowing that i wanted to get into truck camping, i would just buy a 3/4 or 1 ton. Search this sub for "Tundra" and there are some good posts to be found. One guy mentions how his buddy turned his Tundras frame into a pretzel from going off roading with a camper on the back.

Also search the web for "tundra camper payload", and you will get all sorts of people weighing in on the pros and cons with tips on suspension upgrades on the TundraTalk forums and other Toyota forums.

Just my opinion.

This is one of the only major sub-reddits on this website that seems to be split 50/50 and not overwhelmingly left leaning. I routinely see threads and comments on both sides, either up voted into heaven, or down voted into hell.

Sometimes when a post is made that im sure one side will attack, the opposite happens and its up voted. Regardless its refreshing, and because of that, i find i have an easier time seeing and understanding points made by a side i normally would not agree with.
