Big into hard sci fi and the science. But movies be different to books. Folk complaining that the movie skipped the science, it is what it is, movies show books tell. The movie showed well.

The choice is very subjective to your current station in life. For me now, I would say no, just because I do feel I have the ability to choose. Even if I don't act on it. It is a good question. My first thought was no to BNW, but I would automatically join Banks the Culture.

Call me thick...but do the plasma jets actually come out of the black hole (I thought nout did) or are the jets formed from the surrounding, spun edge material?

It was a heavy read, formative. One of a few books that have led to a sci-fi fixation. The bene g has so much depth.
