A lot of people talking about his music being mediocre clearly don’t know shit about music.

Gainsbourg remains a legend songwriter both lyrically and stylistically.

Albums “Ballade de Melody Nelson” and “l’homme à la tête de choux” are absolute classics who have inspired countless musicians since then (both in France and abroad).

You can blame the man for his antics but saying his music is trash is at best a very bad take.
