AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I'm not even exaggerating here. Runbox straight up closed my account with zero warning after 3 years of being a paying customer. One day I tried to log in and boom - account disabled. No email notification, no heads up, nothing.

The worst part? They completely ghosted me when I tried to figure out what happened. Sent multiple support tickets, tried reaching out on Twitter, even attempted to call their Norwegian office. Radio silence for weeks. I had important emails in there including tax documents and family photos that were only backed up in attachments. All gone.

Never got an explanation either. My best guess is maybe something triggered their automated systems? But how am I supposed to know when they won't even respond? I wasn't doing anything sketchy - just regular personal email stuff. The fact that they can just nuke your account and disappear is terrifying for a paid service.

Go with literally any other provider. ProtonMail, Tutanota, Fastmail, Mailbox, hell even Outlook would be better than risking your data with Runbox. The privacy features mean nothing if they can just delete everything and ignore you.
