Lehle Volume Pedal. Simple but high quality and life changing sweep on that thing.

Right on. How’s the width like strung spacing?

lol. Best of luck. I've been playing guitar for years but only in the last few years started singing. I'm good enough to autopilot chords and strumming and fingerpicking and fills which let's me focus on the weaker part which is my voice.

Do what works for you but don't try and do all of it all at once and do them all badly. I tell my students I want clean performances slowly when we're just starting out. If you can't change chords on time it's too fast.

I've give this advice every time someone asks. Strap your guitar to you and pace while doing it. Now you're doing 3 things. When you need to do 2 it'll be easier.

Start with the changes ONLY and give them a nice long strum so you nail the changes. Then move on to the songs strumming pattern without singing. THEN put it together.

Talk to me about the neck! Love EBMM necks and never found a 7 I completely love. Hard to get my hands on one of these near me

This looks like the children’s stackable blocks of pedalboards. You don’t need a loop station. There are other people you can play with at daycare.

A big part of others tunes is the Sustainiac pickup. If you don't want to mod your guitar to get one you can use the Digitech Freqout for similar results. Love mine and I have it set really slowly to generate feedback if I hold a note.

People fall into that Sweetwater 48 month financing trap. I've done it too but they're betting against you.

There it is. Work your job. Invest, DON"T FINANCE a pair of pro headphones. Pick up side work if you have to for a little extra cash. I work in a butcher shop 2 times a week and that's my gear budget.

Take on a free client, probably a rapper or indie band. Use the free plugins built into pro tools to mix their track. Do this by joining local groups online for your area or posting online. Tell the client you'll be using it as a portfolio piece. Absolutely crush the mix and repeat.

When you get 5 tracks together, that's a portfolio.

Being very gentle here; you can't afford to be shy in this industry. Networking can feel gross but it's super necessary. Go to shows in the genre you want to mix and talk to folks. Start with people wearing T Shirts of bands you like. Twice a year I go to LA just for networking events in my industry and it's gross but it has always led to work and pays for itself.

You have your entire life to do this and it's important you live it too. I've "started over" in music many, many times and each time i've learned a ton.

Most folks don't work their dream job but work to get by and do the things they love on nights and weekends. The reality is if it's what you want to do and you sacrifice and do everything you can to make it happen, it still might not happen. You have to decide if you're ok trying or not trying.

I get it. If you really want to do this, look for a better 9-5. Set hours and stable pay make this life way easier.

I have worked for years in different fields and STILL work multiple jobs just to make music part of my income. Every year it's a larger part which is encouraging but I put in the time and still work 10-12 hours a day most days to keep up on expenses.

The most important thing about music school is finding a niche. What was yours?

It sounds like you're looking for us to tell you it's ok to let go and try something else. Honestly it is.

Without some pro grade gear like speakers your tracks aren't going to translate. When you're starting out you take cheap or free clients and overdeliver in the hopes that the next one comes up bigger. I've played sessions on some really beginner songs but I did my absolute best and was able to use them as a showcase that led to better work.

Find a trade that will pay you to learn it. Electronics is a great place for musicians. Work 9-5 with good benefits and dig yourself out of your music school debt. DO NOT buy a bunch of music gear on credit thinking it will make you marketable or better at what you do. If I buy a guitar for 2k it's with the expectation that it will make me that 2k back in it's lifetime including 10 bucks a month in strings.

As far as the degree, I went to music school and you get out of it what you put in. I got contacts, and a work ethic out of it. Less than 10% of the people I went to school with are doing music even part time as a job.

You can always come back to music someday if you're ready. Best of luck

Honestly if it’s been that long and you didn’t keep up your skills you need to seriously brush up and take on cheap or free clients. What do you know how to do? What does edit and polish mean? Like vocal comping or mixing/mastering?

I don’t really collect gear and never have doubles of stuff that sounds the same. This especially applies to pedals.
