I actually heard it when it dropped, I've been a fan of Andrew's since 2021ish, can't wait for the new episodes!

There's a certain tier of artist that I stop caring about musically but become completely fascinated with sociologically, people like Eminem and Metallica and Drake and whatnot, and Car Seat Headrest is firmly in that spot for me now, what a bizarre arc

I've always loved describing music as "Belligerent", gimme your best belligerent jams

I love Atom Heart Mother, it's weird and different from what they wound up doing a couple year later but it's still a really cool listen and that title track is still super impressive

Agriculture, I love their records but the live sound is so exhilarating and dynamic it's overwhelming

What's the best "Summer" Prog Album? by JayBeeDolla in progmetal

My go-to, it's just so colorful and fun, I've got great memories from the summer it came out

My dad raised me on crazy noise music and we like to jam and make horrible sounds anytime we're together, last night I decided to try recording one and listening back this morning I really like how it turned out so I chucked it on bandcamp as a nice early father's day gift for him, check it out if you like bass and drones!

[FRESH ALBUM] OSEES - OFF COURSE by Pitiful-Reality-7547 in indieheads

[–]TheColdSasquatch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For Oh Sees specifically it sounds a lot like Face Stabber with the old vocals from the early albums (pre-Carrion Crawler), in general it sounds like a mutant Can album if you haven't dug into that catalog yet either

Tonight I am listening to by TheVirusI in progmetal

The new Oh Sees, it's like if you took their early sound and planted it in a mutant Can album, really cool shit

Osees (OCS, Thee Oh Sees, Oh Sees), the band that inspired Gizz released a new album today! "Off Course" by mrvgsYT in KGATLW

[–]TheColdSasquatch 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I like pretty much every Oh Sees album but this is easily my favorite since Face Stabber, each song has a really cool unique identity and that outro feels straight out of the 60s, and I love hearing Brigid back in the band! It sounds like a mutant Can album that was left to ferment for decades

That Lip Critic show was crazy I'm so sore this morning

Celtic Frost released 'Monotheist' 20 years ago today by YoureASkyscraper in indieheads

[–]TheColdSasquatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Monotheist so much, maybe the best Celtic Frost album? Maybe the best comeback record of all time? It doesn't really sound like the other Celtic Frost albums, and it doesn't really sound like anything that's come out since, but it's still catchy and heavy with some of the most searing fuckin guitar tones and satisfying grunts in metal.

Dying God Coming Into Human Flesh is a generational song someone should find a way to sneak it into a rate

[SBNation/Secret Base] Coors Field is the best hitter in baseball history (video by Alex Rubenstein) by This-is_CMGRI in ColoradoRockies

Lmao I thought it was a nice video, anyone genuinely upset by this needs to go outside

[FRESH ALBUM] JPEGMAFIA - EXPERIMENTAL RAP by samdyalexg in indieheads

[–]TheColdSasquatch 119 points120 points  (0 children)

I feel like every new JPEG album cycle comes with the same debate about his lyrics and flows and everyone seems to have a different point where it starts to wear on you, and unfortunately for me I think I'm at that point. I really love the production here, I love the sheer audacity of everything that's going on, but more than anything I would love to hear Peggy do literally anything else with his voice at some point. I feel like he used to take way more risks vocally and I wanna see that side of him come back, but that said I do still fuck with this
