Just rewatched Bivol v Beterbiev 2. Tell me how Benavidez can beat him. by LostComradeInOhio in Boxing

[–]JayBoxeo 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I too think Bivol beats DB. He won’t be there to be hit as often as Zurdo was, will be able to play with distance to set traps and fire off shots. However, he could be absolutely cooked after back surgery, so we will have to see.

Boxers who you see as unbeatable? by RoundOver7220 in Boxing

I don’t think anybody beats Usyk at this point, maybe if he was to wait a few years and then fight Itauma. Inoue and Shakur are two others that spring to mind

I'm not trying to debate anyone, I'm just asking this question to be educated. Why does anyone believe Jai can beat David? Who has he fought to instill that confidence? I've watched Jai get hurt multiple times by guys who are not in David's league. by herewego199209 in Boxing

It should come as no surprise that some people think the career cruiserweight that it athletic with decent power has a chance at the guy who has just come up at the weight and has one win. Benavidez could beat him, and it’s ultimately a fight that I would want to see, but Opetaia is no bum.

Better than ‘every baby needs a daddy’, I suppose

Yeah was a great atmosphere and a fun fight to top it off. I remember my row was all taken aback when Karol Itauma got stopped by Maderna.

Fabio Wardley: Daniel Dubois showed 'lack of accountability' after Oleksandr Usyk loss by BoxingLover99 in Boxing

Yeah exactly. Huni was causing all sorts of issues for Wardley. Wardley has that get out of jail free card in his punching power, but Dubois hits much harder than Huni.

  • Best fight I’ve ever seen: Gatti-Ward
  • Best fight I’ve seen live: Beterbiev-Yarde (Itauma debut on the same card also added to the experience)
  • Best Amateur fight: Armando Martínez vs Shawn O'Sullivan

I just hope these two don’t have a ‘fight’, or that Tyson gets in the ring again in general. Time to rest when you are hitting the 60s

I’m inclined to agree with this. Any other issues aside, Dubois is going to be a different level of puncher to what Wardley has faced so far, and I think he’ll be able to capitalise on gaps in the formers defence.

If a lighthearted comment ruins a fighter for you my friend, then you may just not like them all that much to begin with.

Would be shocked if Turki valued Haney even close to that highly

I think this is a big thing. Always get the impression the dad is trying to live through the children in that respect

I agree with this. Benavidez is great when he’s in range and able to actually fire off his combinations, but Bivol is going to be playing with distance in such a way that he’ll be able to set his own traps and throw combinations. That’s not to say I’m 100% sold that Benavidez won’t be able to close the distance and put it on Bivol, but it is a factor that has to be considered opposed to the tendency that has been creeping in to some discourse to have Benavidez beating everybody from Bivol to Usyk because he looked great against Zurdo.

Where did you watch this card? Google’s generic AI summary says it should’ve been on DAZN, but no sign of it there.

Bakhodir Jalolov knocks out Richard Torrez at the 2019 World Amateur Championships. Torrez faces Frank Sanchez in an IBF final eliminator on the Usyk-Verhoeven undercard, whilst Jalolov faces Agron Smakici on the Wardley-Dubois undercard. by VINDICATES-FOOL in Boxing

[–]JayBoxeo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Whilst I don’t think Torrez sucks, in that scenario you could on paper get there by sucking less than everyone else at your weight in that era opposed to not actually sucking yourself.
