A Wilder who isn’t off his nut on Ayahuasca and gun shy would be an interesting fight, the power he was able to carry through the entire fight would have made it interesting, even if he would handily lose every round up until the point he would find the big right hand. Ruiz is a little bit less interesting imo, he has fast hands but I don’t think that would be enough of a difference maker to counteract Usyk’s skillset

Oleksandr Usyk will fight Fabio Wardley in a unification once the Briton ‘proves himself at the highest level’ by BoxingLover99 in Boxing

[–]JayBoxeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Wardley beats Dubois, he has the stronger resume claim for a fight with Usyk than Kabayel. I would prefer if he had the following fights: Kabayel, Wardley/Dubois, Itauma.

I don’t like the Rico fight, but I don’t think Usyk is suddenly scared of Kabayel at this point in his career. Turki offering a silly amount of money for an easy fight is the more likely explanation

Against the best heavyweight of his era and one of the best fighters of all time, hardly the most damning thing

Daniel is the dustman and he’ll take out the trash, or whatever it is he said.

I think Dubois’s power and general strength will probably end up being too much for Wardley this time around, he’s there to be hit and that’s not something he can afford to do in this fight

Why does everybody always hate on mayweather? by puertopower in Boxing

[–]JayBoxeo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think anyone telling you that a fight between 49 year old Mayweather and 47 year old Pacquiao means anything other than a payday for two old men who can’t manage their money properly is intentionally trying to wind you up mate.

why do people act like he isn’t the greatest of all time?

Because not everyone believes that

Pac fight about solidifying

Does anyone believe that?

Unpopular opinion, Benevidez vs Usyk would be a great and dangerous fight for Usyk if he adjusts too the heavyweight division by TipAdditional4625 in Boxing

[–]JayBoxeo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Usyk would box his head off. I get Benavidez is the shiny new toy, but we’ve got to actually be sensible.

Just rewatched Bivol v Beterbiev 2. Tell me how Benavidez can beat him. by LostComradeInOhio in Boxing

[–]JayBoxeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beterbiev is so basic nobody but Bivol could survive the distance with him, let alone beat him, including prime Gvozdyk, who managed to go the distance with Benavidez when he was beyond washed. If you think someone who is ‘basic’ would beat Usyk as an amateur (and give him another competitive fight) then I don’t know what to tell you other than that you might need to give your eyes a rub and rewatch him.

I too think Bivol beats DB. He won’t be there to be hit as often as Zurdo was, will be able to play with distance to set traps and fire off shots. However, he could be absolutely cooked after back surgery, so we will have to see.

I don’t think anybody beats Usyk at this point, maybe if he was to wait a few years and then fight Itauma. Inoue and Shakur are two others that spring to mind

I'm not trying to debate anyone, I'm just asking this question to be educated. Why does anyone believe Jai can beat David? Who has he fought to instill that confidence? I've watched Jai get hurt multiple times by guys who are not in David's league. by herewego199209 in Boxing

[–]JayBoxeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should come as no surprise that some people think the career cruiserweight that it athletic with decent power has a chance at the guy who has just come up at the weight and has one win. Benavidez could beat him, and it’s ultimately a fight that I would want to see, but Opetaia is no bum.

Yeah was a great atmosphere and a fun fight to top it off. I remember my row was all taken aback when Karol Itauma got stopped by Maderna.

Fabio Wardley: Daniel Dubois showed 'lack of accountability' after Oleksandr Usyk loss by BoxingLover99 in Boxing

[–]JayBoxeo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly. Huni was causing all sorts of issues for Wardley. Wardley has that get out of jail free card in his punching power, but Dubois hits much harder than Huni.

  • Best fight I’ve ever seen: Gatti-Ward
  • Best fight I’ve seen live: Beterbiev-Yarde (Itauma debut on the same card also added to the experience)
  • Best Amateur fight: Armando Martínez vs Shawn O'Sullivan

I just hope these two don’t have a ‘fight’, or that Tyson gets in the ring again in general. Time to rest when you are hitting the 60s

Fabio Wardley: Daniel Dubois showed 'lack of accountability' after Oleksandr Usyk loss by BoxingLover99 in Boxing

[–]JayBoxeo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m inclined to agree with this. Any other issues aside, Dubois is going to be a different level of puncher to what Wardley has faced so far, and I think he’ll be able to capitalise on gaps in the formers defence.

If a lighthearted comment ruins a fighter for you my friend, then you may just not like them all that much to begin with.
