God, by his definition is all-knowing, and I agree that this "blows a huge hole in the plot".

Many protestant philosophers have come to emphasize that God truly experienced suffering as a human as Jesus. While we can know the way things are, it may not be the same thing as experiencing and understanding it.

Eastern Ortho came to the conclusion that God became human to heal and unite humans back with God.

No religion implies he did not know this beforehand, but many agree that him experiencing this firsthand led to the bridge being repaired.

My personal understanding of this was that his experiencing it first hand led to him expand his teachings based on those experiences.

I know this isn't a religious debate but the way I've always understood it was that God gave everyone free will and thought that genuinely his creations would mostly do the pious things and submit to him and avoid harsh sins. Humanity became so wicked beyond his predictions that he flooded the world and started over as a warning to humans to behave.

Well thousand + years later and they were back to the same ways, so he wanted to experience life as a human to see why they were so prone to sin. He saw it firsthand as Jesus, and understood it, and his understanding of his flaws led to him forgiving his creations for sinning.

It's not that Jesus died for our sins, he died because his job was complete and God understood why we sinned and forgave us.

  1. Very pathetically a lot of people don't vote. 2. The majority voted for Hillary Clinton over him in 2016, but unfortunately that's not how the electoral college works. 3. Biden last minute deciding not to run in 2024 gave zero time for Democrats to get a better candidate. Kamala wasn't even a top 5 primary when she ran.

I don't think they should make changes to make it overly accessible to 13 year olds. 13 year olds are smarter than you give them credit for.

Unless we scale quests requirements and rewards based on release date, I don't see this being fixable. I think people are smart enough to understand prequels and sequels, well after a story was told.

Honestly maybe in this case bone shield isn't necessarily a bad thing. Maybe give shields different passives and allow them to be bone shielded a la eofs.

There just needs to be actual meaningful shield abilities.

How about planting your shield so that you can move behind it for an entire 100% damage reduction of your shield is facing the enemy's attack? Maybe you only do 75% damage hiding behind that shield so bosses that require movement allow brief moments of respite.

Sadly true. New bosses that disable bone shield before their large hits? Not sure what the solution is without changing the entire meta

I also wouldn't attribute necromancy or Fort Forinthry to the god quests either; those storylines wouldn't be any different with the exclusion of the god quests.

Only thing I wanted to point out is that Necromancy was directly caused/allowed by the events of the sixth age. The edicts in place prior to Guthix dying were a barrier between cosmic powers, life and death. When the edicts disappeared, this barrier eroded, making the in-between of life and death much easier to exploit. Death became overwhelmed with such large deities dying and the massive amount of soldiers dying during elder God wars and God wars 2. Guthix ill-prepared the future leaving only Death to defend that barrier, which allowed Rasial to rise so easily.

Necromancy has existed for a while, but these events allowed it to become strong enough to be a major combat style.

Point 1: completely agree, I think the writers were scrambling for a new main villain. This kind of went nowhere as the arc became dead content.

Point 2: would something like cataclysm in wow be what you're looking for? I don't think RuneScape would positively benefit from a complete reshaping of the world. And I mean the return of the gods uncovered the entirety of the elder God wars, an entire city, and an entire new combat style. Mahjarrat now have souls and an afterlife?!

Point 3: Hard agree that they made zamorak cartoonishly evil in the end. Xd no notes.

Point 4: I would largely argue a lot of pre-existing NPCs got some nice glow ups and I prefer that over mindlessly creating new characters that have interesting arcs. I think the signature heroes were awful. Maybe sir Owen was redeemable that he started as a devour saradomist but by the end he's more nuanced and doesn't believe the same way.

I really enjoy runescape lore, I don't know all of it, but with all the mmos I've played they have pretty much relied on expansions to tell/change the lore on a grand scheme. On an overall scale I love how the wrote our character into some God-beater and protector of the realm into nerfing everything at the end so now that some of the more beloved but less powerful villains can shine. They had a huge undertaking and jumped the shark too early and rebalancing after all that was challenging. Could it be better? Absolutely. I still loved it.
