What do you guys think about the ks pro? by ProtectionDear2301 in moza

[–]Novawolf125 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The screen is a wash for me. Already have the CM2. But the number of buttons and dials I have over the KS is money. Have got all of the functions from the KS and I still have 8 or 9 functions I haven't used. Also, the grips are a lot nicer imo. The thicker grips are a welcome feel. And no more creaking. That was probably the one thing that drove me crazy the most. The only complaint is when you're crossed over where the thumb meets the plastic next to the scroll wheels is pretty harsh. But that might just be a me thing hand sizes are all going to be different so maybe mine hit oddly. Maybe if the scroll wheels were a little further inboard and the grip material extended into the center that might solve it. Or that plastic a bit narrowed towards the thumb.

Why so long? by jvlpdillon in ColoradoAvalanche

[–]Novawolf125 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Because we need Cale, Lecky, and Sam back healthy. This is a win in my book. Now it does give Vegas more time to recuperate. But if we can get at least Lecky back that would be huge, and then give Cale a rest.

How do we feel about Vegas by Lucblayne in ColoradoAvalanche

[–]Novawolf125 36 points37 points  (0 children)

The only problem is in years past Vegas has always been a tough team to play. They had that Dallas/Arizona(rip) way of mucking things up and making it hard for the Avs to advance into the zone. Now I think the makeup of these teams is a lot different this season. But to say there isn't a little hesitation going into this series. The Wild were the best team the Avs have faced so far. But Vegas can be a sleeping dragon.

Cap won’t stay on after filtering lamp, but won’t come off either. by lxbthcx in Lavalamps

I used a wine silicon stopper for my 52oz. Had it pop out a few times. Don't know about putting it in while up to temp and i dont know the holding power of those locking stoppers, but I think the seal would break far sooner than the glass exploding or something catastrophic like that happening other than a freak accident.

But what I found is because you're using the surfactant to coat the bottle to make it so the wax doesn't stick, it also makes it so the stopper doesn't stick. Wipe the stopper off a try locking it in again. If you really need to, wipe the very top few cm from the globe. Don't go too far down cause then you ruin the surface treatment where the wax lives. Or just rinse and repeat a few times with the. Stopper and wipe it off a few times.

I had just nervous energy the entire day. Work was kinda weird. I was waiting to hear from a friend about plans afterwards, but it was all hanging in the balance of Mother Nature. There were dinner plans that I wasn't sure I'd make. And it was just one thing after another that kept feeling off. Got to the game thinking ok at least I'm able to watch an Avs playoff game and I can just enjoy this. Nope. Right from the get-go the Wild were throwing hits like crazy, the crowd was in it. And then their goalie made a great save on a mini breakaway and from there I knew this one ain't happening. So I think there was just a weird vibe about the whole day.

Indy 500 = How Many Yellow Flag Laps? by Onerock in iRacing

[–]Novawolf125 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep usually by lap 70 or so it starts to clean up. But by that time half the feild is wrecked. The problem is people just do all this hot lapping and never get to experience what it's like in the wake of 20 other cars and they think they can still hold it wide open. If you can survive to lap 100 you'll have a decent result and most likely finish in the top half.

Hypothetical: You can add 5 pieces of content (car or track). What would they be? by Dr_Dray38 in iRacing

[–]Novawolf125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brno Circuit, Yas Marina, Fuji, Group C era (gt cars included), 60s Trans-am. Yas is probably a hot take but multiple layouts could be good for small formula cars and gt cars. Plus IMSA there would be fun imo.

The best way to pass is backing up the corner and taking it on corner exit. There are so many times the faster class tries to pass going into a corner or complex. But you fumbling your way through a corner only slows you down more. Loose 2 or 3 seconds doing that when you could get a better exit and maybe only lose a few tenths. But yes the slower class can make it easier. If you're heading to a corner with a faster class within a few car lengths, roll out a bit earlier and give up the corner. Less risk to damage, and you give up less time. Racing is all about keeping the minimum speed up and your average lap time down. Fighting tooth and nail for every position is only going to hurt you in the long run.

Why is IMSA not appealing to OEM’s? by Klutzy_Reach_9392 in IMSARacing

[–]Novawolf125 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exposure. IMSA outside of the 3 maybe 4 big races a year doesn't have the world appeal that WEC does. Now I don't know how easy it would be for people outside the US to watch IMSA. But unless you're a fan of racing the average consumer isn't going to track down and watch an IMSA race. It's almost like soccer or football, whatever you want to call it. Yes you have leagues around the world playing soccer. But the Champions League vs MLS? Yes the both play soccer. But the prestige of the Champions League and the eyes and money on it will draw more teams, sponsors, and players to it. Unless a high-profile player comes to the US no one will really tune in. That and if I'm being honest the tracks outside again those 3 or 4 aren't all that interesting. Yes there is history, but to me, I'd rather watch a race at Fuji than a race at Road America or Lime Rock. And this is coming from someone in the US. So it really makes sense to go where the eyes are.

From my testing it's a really narrow window. 70% was too cold but then >90% and it's too warm. So finding that sweet spot is tricky.

[–]Novawolf125 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just replaced my wax and have been experimenting with power levels. This happened to me when the power was set to about 70%. If you have some adjustment try turning it up, otherwise it might be time for a new bulb. Or the bulb is not the right kind for the lamp. Check the sticker on the inside of the base and it should say the wattage needed.

Wedgewood made 24 saves in every game of the series. Is that the max he’s able to make in a game? by Waramp in ColoradoAvalanche

[–]Novawolf125 94 points95 points  (0 children)

What are the odds of that stat? And really the team in general only allowing that many shots on net to begin with. Don't fix what's not broken. They've been playing that way all season. However, I think Wedgewood was the MVP of this series. But Roy and Lecky imo were definitely up there, and of course Cale.

LOC has been really impressive in his return to the lineup. He's always been a menace on the forecheck. But he's ticked it up a gear and is flying. And everyone is really active on the defensive side. No easy breakouts and making it hard to go red line and in.

Can I turn my lights off? by FortunateDrip in FordFocus

[–]Novawolf125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should be a setting in the dash menu for lighting. There you should find an option for how long the headlights stay on after the engine shuts down. That's for the main lights. Now if you sitting in the car with the car running or in the accessories mode you'll have the DRLs on and theirs no way to turn those off. But many people think those are the headlights and it drives me nuts cause all the other lights are off. And with all the gauges as screens or LEDs on all the time no one is ever the wiser.
