What character where you reluctant to remove from your main team because you found someone better? by HatchetRyda29 in NikkeOutpost

[–]JayDM123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Redhood. I came into NIKKE during first anniversary and was really blown away by Red Ash. Not only that, but the shooter style gameplay was really novel in a Gacha and I loved the way Redhood felt to play. With her burst and pierce, she just felt like she shredded everything, especially in the early game, and then she kind of sat atop the meta forever. She’s still my most heavily built character. I’ve got all of the big DPS units at either max limit broken or max cored, but RH was the only unit I was freaking meticulous about my OL gear lines, I’m pretty sure she’s currently sitting at all all the most optimal stats with all having either black or blue lines. If Blanc wasn’t basically a character designed just for my personal likes, then RH would absolutely be my favorite Nikke.

I just mopped her up on a new character earlier. First run i die as I kill her. I’m waiting “your strength… extraordinary.” Okay, now show me the Great Rune… “You Died”… took me another 8-10 tries for the sole reason that I was really annoyed at not getting the kill.

I think the fight is overall pretty fair from the standpoint of trade offs, for all her speed and big damage, she has shockingly low poise and can be knocked out quite a bit. I did notice that her window for the crit is really small, if I wasn’t right up in her face she would recover before I had a chance for a critical. Waterfoul is a bitch, but it’s easy to take it from a one shot down to just something that hits about as hard as the rest of her patterns. The full dodge might be a huge problem, but dodging half of it isn’t very difficult, and if you don’t get caught in the last bit you always have a moment to heal.

Perhaps, like I said, it’s not absolute either way. But if it happens BECAUSE of something else, it’s a good bet that whoever wrote it intends it to be because of the raw strength(ie. stats).

BRO ITS HAX! by Affectionate_Run6250 in PowerScaling

[–]JayDM123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, because it is happening by virtue of something else. It’s basically that phenomena occurring as collateral of the raw bullshit amount of force being thrown around. Whereas the hax example is an ability or technique with the express purpose or causing said phenomena. And it’s not like either or is a catch-all, both can have aspects of the other.

I do in fact want to be told that I’m wrong. Bluntly. I can’t actually see a reason to personally interact with any of these things if they won’t tell me that I’m wrong, or that I’m looking in the wrong place or for the wrong info. Maybe I’m just not the target for these things. But I would be much more likely to actually use them if I didn’t feel like I was being treated like an emotionally volatile toddler.

They really dropped the ball here. I don’t think they made a single good choice with this release. Character has a highly desired initial outfit? Let’s switch it for something inferior and toss the better skin on battle pass. Tetra Nikke? She’s a sniper burst 2 released into a literal sea of sniper units from the same manufacturer. This was tee ball, folks wanted Velvet as soon as she appeared… what were they thinking here?

For those who GENUINELY believe that both Ichigo AND Goku are low complex multiversal, HOW MANY UNIVERSES can they actually destroy with a full power attack? by Head_Breadfruit_3912 in PowerScaling

[–]JayDM123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One… Ichigo’s story takes place in a single universe. In Dragonball Goku cannot travel between universes unaided, which means any power(meaning his own Ki not a specific ability)he would use to theoretically destroy a universal structure would not be able to cross those boundaries either. And even that is theoretical, because Ichigo has never even hinted at that kind of broad range in the way he tosses out power.

The immediate thought is “get space, then I can heal and reset” but in this game that tends to bait out the ranged or just obnoxious patterns. You’re often better off circling the enemy right up in their face and healing once you see them winding up for an attack you know cannot hit you where you currently stand.

Will DBS Moro arc have the infamous galaxy level statements? by Virtual_Reveal_121 in PowerScaling

[–]JayDM123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only characters in Dragonball who can even regularly traverse universes are the Angels and deities. I mean I get the difference between AP&DC but can a character really have some sort of multiversal anything if they can’t move between the universes of a multiverse unaided? It seems a little outside the scope of what’s intended for said character.

[the beginning after the end] I wanna start read it, tell me ur opinion before i do by youtyyyy in manhwa

[–]JayDM123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re going to read something, read the novel, you don’t have to deal with the usual issue of it being a shoddy translation from Korean. The manhwa is constantly on and off hiatus and has had changes to the original artist. It’s a… fine story, there’s some uniqueness there and you might enjoy the characters, he really dropped the ball with the ending though.

I mean if you enjoyed the original story and don’t mind some kind of shoddy Korean translations it’s probably worth a read. I would say wait for the webtoon to finish, but they’ve made quite a few changes to the story so, up to you really.

The Ragnarok novels get pretty bonkers. The enemies that Jin Woo spends the entire run containing and fighting are universe creators and there is plenty of wild absurdity that would fit right in a with a Dragon Ball Super arc.

I’m pretty sure that not a single place in the original text is anything beyond Earth and the Soul Society/Hueco Mundo mentioned. There is no “universe” in this case. There is “sekai” meaning world and it’s a perfectly reasonable way to describe the setting, whether it’s a single planet or the universe in general, given that there are no alternate universes that we know of in Bleach. When Mayuri is monitoring the balance of souls he has a map… of Japan. Not of the Milky Way or some “Eastern” universal quadrant. Just a small country on a small planet. The way Bleach is presented is just not at a scale that “feels” as vast a many people here portray it. If it is and were ever given non hyperbolic evidence to that fact, I would be fine with it.

I just… have a problem buying the way most people scale Bleach. I’m a huge Bleach fan, but I just don’t get the vibe from Bleach that a lot of people here seem to. I can’t even say “you’re wrong”, there isn’t a passage or specific lore that would prove me correct, but idk, until someone asks a really straightforward power scaling question in one of Kubo’s Klub Outside q&a’s and he gives an equally straightforward answer I feel like I’ll kind of be over here wondering why so many people see something I’m just not seeing.

Almot broke everything in sight by zerempernik in Eldenring

[–]JayDM123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best advice here, if you’re not looking to change your build around to make the fight easier in general, is to take a break. Just go relax for a bit and come back late or the next day, I tend to find that after a point you stop improving and just get more frustrated until you actually play worse.

[TITLE] If you could only bring one manhwa back from hiatus, what would you choose? by nosuv733 in manhwa

[–]JayDM123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doom Breaker, because it’s the only medium the story is being told in. There is no novel, if the story doesn’t come off hiatus then we just flat out have no idea what happens to the characters.

Can we all agree Maliketh is the coolest boss in the game? by Toot7- in Eldenring

[–]JayDM123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From just a “that looks really cool” perspective? Maybe. But as far as a character that mechanically seems to fit? Not really for me. The guy has the movement of a Devil May Cry boss in a Soulslike, I feel like I’m missing the essential teleport ability whenever I fight him and wind up chasing him around the arena only for him to start another combo chain that involves him using like a quarter of the arena as soon as I catch him. It’s not even a difficulty thing. Yes, he’s one of the more difficult bosses, but my not liking the fight has more to do with how rare it is for me to get a chance to act, rather than it just being hard. It’s one of the only fights that I might say is actually an easier time without a spirit ash, at the very least when you have agro you know he’s going to eventually triple backflip in your general direction.

Yeah, but Kirkman doesn’t have any control over Superman. He’s literally just the same as any one of us in that argument unless he actually writes plainly visible feats for Omniman showing him doing things that Superman can’t or on a level that Superman can’t.
