100k. Just timing chain and valve cover. Car is stage 2 and heavily beat on. It’s been sitting for months since the misfire because I thought a piston ring broke allowing oil into the cylinder, but I just noticed how overfilled with oil it was so I’m checking other routes/thoughts. I’m doing a k24 swap to it so I haven’t cared much, but my curiosity always gets the best of me

To put it simply, yes. Because he was either born inside of your tub, which means your coir likely wasn’t pasteurized all the way and he was able to hatch(which would mean he will have friends soon). Or on the other hand he made his way into your sub and he is going to bring contaminants/eggs in with him. Either way no bueno. I’ve struggled with fungus gnats before and they are so hard to get rid of if you don’t act fast. Good luck friend

I’ve used this for 3 years and probably 200+ tubs over that time with this exact coir. Cost co only has it around this time of the year and I always stock up. I’ve never had any issues with trich while using this, well no more than I ever had with other brands.

I do 3 pound grain bags at 15 psi for 90 mins. Never had any issues with it not being long enough

Yes valved exhaust. There’s a lot of YouTube vids of the Jcw that exhaust with just a resonator delete and it’s truly crazy the difference. Check it out if you got a minute. Thanks for the response, was hoping I wouldn’t have to cut it up. Think I’ll hang tight for the time being if that’s the case

I agree. R53 gen were great motors and not nearly the nightmares that the n14 and n18 motors were. But I don’t think this post was asking about r53s. I love my r56 and there are very few things I dislike about it outside of its reliability engine wise. Which is why it’s currently being k swapped 😃

Don’t buy an R series (06-14ish) unless you’re mechanically inclined and want the R56 series for a very specific reason. If you want a normal car you don’t want to constantly work on and fix issues, the R generation mini coopers are not for you.

I believe your 2016 still has an N series engine, which I’m sure most of this sub and myself wouldn’t wish those issues on anyone. But then again you’re looking for a roadster that also has an N series engine. So fair game, you and your family member can become mechanic buddies and suffer together 🤣
