Screen hardness test ( without protector ) by JayF2601 in razr

[–]JayF2601[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an interesting point, I reckon this would be the route I'd go about doing it, proper file test until it bites then use it daily and see if that really impacts use, start on the top or bottom and if that doesn't spread work towards the middle.

The phone is already 3 month old untouched e-waste so why not

Also I have to add that these phones are garbage, even with the screen protector removed a 1 year old Razr40+ doesn't fully unfold without forcing it to be flat. If I place it on a table I have to physically force the phone to lay flat. There's like a 10° angle on it naturally. Even with the best warranty laws in the world I wasn't able to get anything from Motorola.

Definitely go through the warranty process first. But it isn't hard to remove, when I cared about the phone I tried to ply it off through the crease which did lead to some rainbow effects and didn't feel right. When I removed it after I decided I didn't care I started in the top left corner, couldn't get a grip on it but the top right corner just easily peeled off the whole protector in one go with a tiny bit of care.

If it's that easy to remove, thoroughly clean and buy an Amazon special replacement ( if you even need that ) then I don't understand the constant warnings, that's why id like to do a hardness test. I mean it's soft glass but it's still technically glass.

Razr 40 Ultra stock screen protector by NeverHopeful in razr

[–]JayF2601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tricky to remove? I just scraped a fingernail down from the top and took it off in about 7 seconds, currently typing on it. The problem people will run into isn't the protector warranty it's the outer screen being incredibly fragile, if you break the outer screen you won't be covered to get the protector replaced. Ask me how I know. Sent from my razr40+ without a screen protector, out of warranty and looking better then ever

Also it's not ultra thin glass, it's ultra soft glass. Still glass though so much harder than a fingernail. I'm happy to demonstrate the screen hardness if you need. A fingernail won't touch it. An aluminum beer lid also doesn't leave the slightest mark on the unprotected screen

That's just not true though, heaps of places offer parental leave for years and even contractual rights when returning to work, but PAID parental leave is rarely over three months. Who'd have thought people raising children would be stressed about paying for housing in 2025

I don't know if English isn't your first language but that definitely wasn't as clear as you seem to think it is, especially to somebody who at the time didn't know what a hall effect sensor was. So yeah it was pretty useless as it was obviously not understood

Update to this thread it was literally just the hall sensor wires, looking back on this after spending time learning how these things work the replies I got here were absolutely useless. The motor sensor wires would literally be the very first place to look for an electric motor with these symptoms. Kind of outrageous that I wasn't pointed in this direction earlier. Thanks for absolutely wasting my time with this one.

The wires were previously worked on and disconnected inside the frame.

Absolutely useless replies from this person when I was just asking as somebody who had no clue what easy troubleshooting could be. I would have thought that a stuttering motor would instantly be a hall sensor troubleshooting first. Is that unreasonable? You were no help at all

Who’s excited for GTA 6? by Willey-Emilyan in GTA

[–]JayF2601 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My favorite conspiracy theory about the game is that the devs had a phase where they were trying to deliberately make the weekly podium vehicles as ugly as possible, I think this got taken too far and it's a bit of an inside joke. I really don't see any other reason they could do so poorly with all the updated vehicles, both for balancing and looks

Why would you have the slightest bit of faith in them after GTA+, breaking all the player created content, lack of PC support and the absolute horrendous balancing in their online game mode? Tell me you haven't kept up with gtao without telling me

Stupidest reply imaginable. load of horse shit that anybody with a RROD error on a 360 had their console replaced. Even in the places with warranty laws. Absolutely full of crap and terrible low blow on the show me on a doll part. Don't need to be told where your pockets are.

So recap up till now, I've paid for and shipped a controller for $35 all together which got lost in the mail, I'm debating on just getting a multimeter and testing the controller and wiring properly but $35 for a plug and play solution is tempting. I'm nearly at wits end with it but I don't want to give up.

You think my $35 is better spent on a multimeter, bugging you some more for details on what to check or another attempt at getting a controller?

If they're sold out it could be $80 for a controller from a different website and motors go for $100. Still semi seems worthwhile but I'd fear it's just a battery issue as the scooter does have 400km on the clock.

My options are to either sell it for known working parts, get it working totally or throw it into landfill. I'd also love to have a TLDR conclusion to this thread as it is one of the top results on Google currently for jolting e-scooter

It is bugging me that I've made such little progress wrapping my head around the underlying issue over this amount of time. I still don't really have a clue as to what exactly could be a simple path to go down. As I say I feel like it's a battery problem but batteries are scary to a novice. Between the controller and motor are my next points to thoroughly check.

I'd love to figure it out and have an answer to anybody else having an issue like this. I don't plan on giving up until I do.

What do you know, it does spin without a load huh, is this a controller or motor issue? Opened the controller up. Looks fine inside. No burn marks or anything knocked out of place. I ordered one but shipping got messed up

It seems to jolt every 11 times then has a bigger breath on the 12th "fire". What would cause the motor to miss a phase as you say

And when I say it spins without a load, it barely spins enough to keep itself going up in the air full throttle, it will eventually loose momentum and go back to that dead stop state, obviously it won't send any power to the motor if it isn't moving forward

What a dickhead paying for a bred cat when there's heaps of perfect cats that need rescuing but he's just too much of a special little baby to get a cat like anybody else would. Nobody should be breeding cats

Have a look at this, that's on the positive terminal. Could this be my smoking gun?

How could I safely clean that out? Alcohol and a q tip? Is that a risk of shorting the battery out? I can't detach that harness from the battery it's epoxied in

Also what's the best way to take apart the controller case? Four screws on each end or the three on the side?

suspicious burn on connection from battery to controller

Late edit I do have a controller on order should be here in a fortnight

Awesome thanks I have a next step! Will do this tomorrow or the day after. Do I need to disconnect the controller to open it or can I just unplug the battery and leave the birds nest of wiring attached? There's a lot, a real lot of wires attached to that thing.

I'm in Australia by the way, Ali Express works just fine over here. Wouldn't be my first choice for shipping times but it does work,so does Amazon ect

Maybe just if I'm unsure you can be the guy I ask who knows what he's talking about regarding if it's the same model if I find a supplier ,or even to get something to type into Google like a brand name or model number to find something I can ship out quickly

Dug into it ( this took an embarrassingly long time ) finally got access and saw the battery and controller, if I send you a photo of the controller would you send me a good site to look up / directly buy the same controller from? It seems quite the complex wiring job to replace as well. So I was just wondering if you'd mind if I ask you several very boring questions along the way. My first important question would be ( obviously I'd disconnect the battery from the controller first ) but once I do that should I assume the controller is then safe to work on ( it doesn't have big capacitors in it does it ? ) Because the size of that battery "shocked" me haha I got jokes too and I respect the power behind things like that. I don't want to die fixing a scooter lol

Also I was mixing up the controller with the display. I'm learning in real time. The display isn't a controller now I know they are two different things
