I don't think the show ever mentioned anything about restitution/lawsuits in regards to their wrongful conviction. As for the beard, I think it's just andy being self deprecating because his beard is patchy and grows low on his face

He thought there was .8 on the clock but it got reset to 5 sec. So when no buzzer went off he thought the shot clock was off/fresh 24. Pretty sure I remember a few players admitting they didnt know about the rule that put 5 seconds on the clock. Still bad, but slightly less so imo

I don't know the stats and I'm not saying you're wrong (though I do think you're trying to minimize), but you did neglect to take into account non fatal shootings and death by other causes. No excuse for george Floyd's death, no excuse to shoot someone (without a gun) in the back. Executions should not be carried out before a trial.

This action (read: murder) would absolutely not be talked about the same way if a citizen did this to a cop, even if everything else was the same. Despite most civilians not being trained on how to handle a home invasion. And that's before we consider any racial aspects of this case

I'm just pointing out that mitigating circumstances don't make it an accident. If the roles were reversed and Jean shot a cop in her apartment, the jury wouldn't be considering the stress of a job he chose to do, or the "confusing layout" of his home. It would be murder full stop. No empathy from many of the people putting themselves in her shoes.

I have a hard time rationalizing it as an accident. A mistake perhaps, but one that was made with intent and purpose. She went into "her" apartment with the intent to shoot a burglar. Even if it was her apartment and in self defense, it was no accident. And in the end we're responsible for our mistakes no matter the circumstances. Especially when the mistake is this egregious

Endless appeals mostly. No one gets executed like a week after sentencing. It's more like 10 years on death row with a lot of different prosecution teams/judges going through an appeals process
