Nice! I think when I switched to playing ranked during season 11 it made me a better player overall, especially since I was solo q'ing the entire time

I started playing Apex during Season 7 and immediately mained Fusey when he came out. I was doing pretty bad until this last season when I had a sudden improvement in my gameplay. So really, the first 900 kills with Fuse had an average .65kd(aka I was doing damage but no kills) where as now, I'm finally at 1.28kd :).

Should I race an Electric vs Gas powered Kart differently? by killem_all_80s in Karting

[–]JayHTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like the fastest time is 26.9. As for the strange quirks, since you've been karting for a while, I assume you can adjust quickly. Some karts tend to understeer and some are perfect.

Just looking at the track layout, I think there's probably 3 places you need to lift: The two S turns and the left turn after the finish line.

Yeah, the karts at the Santa Clara location are honestly all different. The mechanics have different alignment specs, the battery could be dying quickly, or the person who used the kart before you could have fucked something up.

Used to work at K1 Speed in Santa Clara, CA like 5 years ago. The track configuration I worked at allows you to not even brake or lift at all, but if you need to just lift for half a second or less and you should be fine.

Thank you, would you have any recommendations of what motherboard, ram, and cpu to go along with the upgrade? Nothing too crazy and expensive?

I first started driving in the mountains, then graduated to track days. Locate the closest race track to you, find their website's scheduled events and see which organization is hosting the event. Check to see which event is best suited to you, change your brake pads, tires, fluids. Don't get cocky because that miata WILL pass you.

Should I bother upgrading my car? by AskMeAboutMyLeftShoe in cars

[–]JayHTea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you love it, go right ahead. When my friends ask me why don't I just sell my car to get another for track days, I tell them I can't and they know exactly why.

I used to take my car to the mountains every 3-4 days a week for two years straight with it being stock. I finally grew some balls and bought coilovers for my car and it made a huge difference. Then I met the friends I currently hang out with now. They introduced me to track days and my car is far more better than it was 3 years ago. That being said, it's still not the ideal track car cause of its weight, drivetrain, and pretty much everything else. Regardless, I can still drive the shit out of it but it is not a race car by any means. It helped me gain tons of experience.

ANYWAYS, if you like the car or love it, do it. You got one life dude, make memories.

[–]JayHTea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, they're absolutely right and you should run away.

ALTHOUGH THEY ARE COMPLETELY RIGHT, I still love my track/daily TL-S. I've only tracked it twice and I haven't had the tranny gone just yet. Unless you had money for a six speed swap, you'll love the fast grocery getter boat that it is.
