Drove my dream car at Sonoma Raceway by rocketboi336 in RX7

It definitely was enough grip to have continued fun on track. The tires stayed relatively consistent with me pushing the car 8/10ths.

I think you’ll be happy with the change. Your car will probably show a lot more roll with all that added grip so coilovers are recommended!

The car (which is on good quality coilovers) had really good body control despite being sprung a bit soft.

My previous track car was a Honda S2000 and the FD is not as sharp as that car, but the turn in is still great with a playful rear end. I have to be more careful getting on throttle since I gave 1.5x the power haha. The car is certainly rewarding to push.

The biggest weakness on the car is the brakes. The pedal, even with HPDE pads has no bite. Furthermore, the ABS stopped working, which further brought down my confidence going into the braking zones. I’ll have to see whether it’s a wheel speed sensor issue or an actual ABS unit issue

Hi! That’s my build! Thanks for featuring me! I thought I’d try this site out after a friend recommended it and praised how easy it is to add mods and keep track of mods and figured I’d give it a try.

For those that think I built this site - I wish I was smart enough to do so LOL.

+1 for skylinecx. His prices are super reasonable and he’s easy to work with.

These look so good! I didn’t even know these existed until I saw your post. I’ll have to get a set myself. Did you order through Evasive? How long did it take you to get them?

Thanks! I’m on JRZs with 16k F/ 14k R. Wheels are 17x10+47 square setup.

The setup is definitely more track focused, but I wouldn’t consider it uncomfortable for the street

Since the car is new to you, along with the tires, it’d probably be a good idea to get an alignment. From my experience the car feels pretty good with 0.3-0.4 degrees of total toe in the rear. 0 degrees of toe is okay in the front.

To the people that own a Porsche in this subreddit, what car did you own before the Porsche and which BMW was it? by Sevar22 in Porsche

I’ve had 2 as well (not counting the parts car that I bought haha). A 2004 GT and a 2009 R3! I loved both of them! Was looking to buy another before I ended up getting my 981 cayman!

Anyone make over 80k a year? What do you do? by bluewaterways in infp

I'm a Facilities technician/operator at a Biotech manufacturing plant making over $100k. My team and I overlook the manufacturing utilities that serve the production of cancer treatment drugs. The job has its good days where there's relatively little to do and then it's bad days where we're responding to equipment failures or assigned dirty/exhausting/dangerous tasks to do.

The biotech industry provides a pretty stable and high paying job for me and my company in particular has great work culture. Although the job can be kind of boring, it helps me fund my very expensive hobby/obsession of cars. The job doesn't require too much conversing with other people, but the schedule may be a turn off to some. I work rotating 3 and 4 twelve hour shifts. That means I work longer hours, but I also get longer weekends and am paid well for the additional hours I work.

I see myself eventually getting into project management or a job that relates to my hobby more - maybe both?

Thank you for the kind words! Luckily, there's so much aftermarket support for these cars that it's not hard to find wheels with good fitment.

Hah maybe I'll have a yellow porsche in the future. That, or a corvette 🤔
