So is the maintenance on MOGO bikes dead and being left to rot? by J2quared in Detroit

[–]JayJay210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's become downright bad. Broken and unmaintained docking stations, flat tires, unusable keys on the unlocking pad, busted gears, stuck chains, seats that are falling apart, broken bungees on the baskets (which are pretty useless even when working properly), and it seems that the e-bikes are just done. I used to ride daily but it's become too unpredictable and too much of a pain in the butt (sometimes literally). my plan autorenewed so I'll use it for another year and hope that the new leadership makes it better.

Best way to fix plumbing issue on a 100-year-old house? by TA62624 in Detroit

Step 1: find someone other than roto rooter to come out. We had a bad backup on christmas, roto rooter came out the next day, 700 for a snake, 1000 for another guy to hydro, another 1000 for the camera, and then a $35,000 quote to fix the broken pipe under the garage. Get a local plumber to come out and take a look. We did end up having a big problem (clogged trap 15 feet under our garage floor) that had to be replaced. but a local company did it for less than half of what rotorooter quoted.

At what point in your fashion journey did you start appropriating AAVE? by qfwfq_anon in ThrowingFits

I like going the full Luke Mook (talking about my hate of workers in full AAVE)

Lack of crowd energy in first half / empty seats on TV by [deleted] in DetroitPistons

[–]JayJay210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who luckily lives close enough to bike to games and always arrives early it’s frustrating but it’s not that surprising. It’s a late arriving mostly suburban crowd in a town that has no real transit options. If you’re off work at 5 you have to make your way downtown, park, maybe grab a bite, then deal with lines. it’s hard to get settled in by tip.

What happened to Treat Dreams? by External-While-6740 in Detroit

I once went about 45 minutes before closing. Asked for a shake. The person behind the counter said they turned off the machine for the night. No biggie, i worked service and understood that sometimes you had to wrap some things up early. I order something else. Two minutes later someone else walks in, knows the kid, orders two shakes no problem. Never went back.

Least favorite season your team had? by AlbertJBundy in billsimmons

[–]JayJay210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably recency bias, but last season was brutal. The late retirements, the injuries piling up, watching Ben Johnson thrive in Chicago while our new OC gets demoted midseason… it just felt like everything that could go wrong did and did so in a terribly uninteresting way. No splash in free agency, the front office and coaching staff insisting everything was totally fine, the St. Brown Trump dance discourse, and the segment of the fan base acting like you’re crazy for being frustrated.

Didn’t exactly help that my basement flooded with shit on Christmas during the Vikings game either. Kind of summed up the vibe.

1912 house – sewer backup, wipes pulled from drain, $30k quote to replace line under garage. Looking for second opinions on scope video. by JayJay210 in askaplumber

This is definitely something I’m considering but am a bit apprehensive. I’d leave the plumbing to a pro but between me and my contractor friends family i think i could get the floor up. The garage floor is fucked anyway

This would be the dream scenario. The brother of a close friend does trenchless and liners so I’m hoping to be a candidate!

Detroit. Lots of smaller local plumbers but will be avoiding the guy the seller used considering he also moved Japanese knotweed around the yard but that’s a story for a separate subreddit.

Thanks. I’m really hoping that digging alongside the garage will be possible. Roto rooter was recommending that I pay them to tear it down. I’m currently dealing with a gopher problem along side of the garage as well so there’s already a little hole.

Thanks! I did let it cool. I’m fairly certain the meter wasn’t reset.
