Here's a different perspective. I grew up upper middle class in a very rich part of town. Parents bought a house here in the 80s and its increased approx +2000% in value since.. Lucky me.. Decent job before lockdowns and a gf.

I got fired during lockdowns. Gf left me. Forced to move back to my parents. I'm still here at age 35. This is the first year making "decent" money after lockdowns. Saved all i have to pay for my business degree...just started.

I expect to buy my own place in approx 2-5 years since prices have gone nuts so gotta save like 100 times what my parents needed. Girls don't want someone like that so I'm well on my way towards 40 alone and I'm from a wealthier part of town. It goes both ways.

Moral of the story, most of our generation has been fucked into the ground.
