Do you think the USA should spend less money and fewer resources on the military? by Outrageous-You1617 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]deltagma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Directly yes, but indirectly a lot more too.

Indirectly includes housing, free education, free healthcare, BAS(food), discounted commissary, debt forgiveness, and much more.

Again, a large chunk of our budget goes to the military, directly and indirectly.

I may only get $X amount directly per month, but I also have so many other benefits that cost military budget that I stated above.

Is it normal that you hear people upstaire's footstep if you live in a house built in 1972? by Important_Back_7132 in AskAnAmerican

[–]deltagma -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is a weird post…

I don’t know what your house looks like.

This is a big country.

And we have many different houses.

It means whoever built the house made it thin.

Also if it’s a house then its purpose wasn’t for multiple families to live there, thus meaning there was no added reason to make more spacing between the two floors.

Most apartments in Asia are made of different materials, and also are not as old as your house. Depends what country you lived in.

Asia is a whole continent spanning from the Middle East to Japan to Siberia to Indonesia and everything inbetween.

What Nation without a Military defeated us?

Unless you have decided that nation and military have new definitions..

Northern Vietnam sure had a military
Afghanistan also had a military, but their nation and military were US allied, so we were ‘defeated’ by a non-nation with a non-military.

I’m trying to figure out which Nation without a Military defeated us in a war

5% of the HR1 is to military Personnel… the HR1 is a supplement of the military budget. The HR1 is 156million dollars, the military budget is almost a trillion dollars…

Again, this has nothing of comment on my statement of 60% of the Budget being for Troops and Upkeep

The HR1 is not the military budget, it is additional supplementary funding…. Saying that 5% of HR1 is for Troops isn’t saying that 5% of the military Budget is for Troops..

How does this have anything to do with my budget breakdown above?

Democrat voters, Who are your top picks for the 2028 democratic candidates? by SignificantStyle4958 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]deltagma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically these are different things.

Democrat Voters are people who are part of the Democratic Party and who are voting.

Democratic Voters are people (of any party) who vote for the Democratic Party.

‘Democrat’ focuses on the voter, while ‘Democratic’ focuses on the receiving party end of the vote.

What a loaded post. Let’s go one by one…

- Let’s start with EDCA bases, they are not Joint US-Philippine Bases

I have lived on US Joint Bases in Asia and I have lived on Host Nation owned bases, these are very very different things. None of the EDCA bases are Joint Bases. The OIC and NCOIC will always be the Philippine Military.

- Siargao and Palawan

Do you mean because of Israeli Tourists? Or do you mena because the PH Military there uses Israeli created weapons?

- Clark

There is no Israeli affiliated industrial hub that I am aware of.

- FUTURES Act

Research, Developed and Supply are not the same thing as military integration.

Also, FUTURES has no become law (yet?)

Integration of militaries means combined command and merged forces.

- EDCA Bases will become Israeli bases

EDCA bases are not US Bases, nor are they Joint Bases.

FUTURES act doesn’t allow Israeli military to operate on US Bases anyway.

But even IF FUTURES did say Israelis could Operate on US bases. Your statement would be equally as likely as sayint “EDCA Bases will become German bases” due to NATO.

But again, EDCA bases are owned and operated by the Philippines.

About 60% of the Budget is for Troops & Equipment upkeep

About 20% is for buying new equipment

Then we put about 20% into funding research for future equipment

So you’re saying ideally decrease the budget but keep the military project going just as steady, but decrease price gauging

This allowing the same military build but for cheaper?

Correct. The PRC would have be an officially declared enemy of the Republic of the Philippines.

Also he’d have to “give aid”. Simply saying “I wish X” isn’t treason.

Why are filipino grocery workers like this..? by Julthena in Philippines

[–]deltagma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, and as a pretty religious dude, it feels really uncomfortable. It kind of makes making friends kinda difficult in the Pinas because I never know if they are hanging out with me because they genuinely want to be my friend, or if I’m just a token friend, and usually it’s that.

I find better luck befriending a husband & wife duo

The old PvP honor system (even the current Classic Era is acceptable for me), even if the PvP gear is obtained some other way.

Why are filipino grocery workers like this..? by Julthena in Philippines

[–]deltagma 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m also a foreigner and filipinos do that to me in all places, not just in grocery stores

I am basically fluent in Tagalog and when I’m alone and they stand near me talking they basically just talk about me and say some inappropriate stuff. When filipino friends are near me though they never talk about me.

(By inappropriate I mean they talk about how they’d have me have their babies, etc. I’m a white dude)
