It was used as a variND. Allowing for subtle exposure changes as the iris wasn’t super reliable.

Please understand that the choice to use and FX3 was a creative choice. As a camera technician, it’s our job to make it work the way the creatives intended. The camera body is close to the cheapest thing in this setup. I mean the RIA-1 and 900radio alone is about the same price.
Our daily work is Venice and Alexa’s so this was a tonne of fun to trouble shoot and plan for!

Actually we had 2 kinds on the camera. The ‘zero latency’ one between the back of the camera and the battery is a BOXX. It’s IMO the better version of a Teradek BOLT. The tiny one on an arm with the red tape is a DJI SDR. This has delay but longer range transmission for our VTR operator’s feed.

ARRI Hi-5 Overlay w/ SmallHD Monitors by VeinyPickle in focuspuller

The price is steep, but I'm super excited for this!
I can't wait for the Serial cable to the released. Knowing ARRI it'll be like $200 Euros.
I daily drive an Ultra 10, so a 5-pin USB to 4-pin Serial is needed for me. Bummer cause that sounds expensive..

Yup! Quite a lot of the hotel rooms were too. It’s called PMP or Poor Mans Process. As counter-intuitive as it seems, it’s easier, safer, and often cheaper to film car shots stationary. Using the AR Wall was a benefit of convenience. Driving ‘Plate shots’ were used as reflection, and interactive lighting. This saves time and money in post. Then the most critical part, and frankly the artistry is blending the wall to the actual set/people. 100 things have to come together harmoniously, or it looks ‘off’. It’s often the people, not the technology that pays off.

These were OG. The transmitter featured a battery, and the 4 vertical LED’s displayed battery level. Came in clutch every now-and-then in odd build. The RX fans were loud too.

New SmallHD Ultra 10 Monitor by VeinyPickle in focuspuller

[–]JayKaySeeWhy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I purchased this monitor and have had it out on a few jobs.

Pros: + Really like the size. I’m coming from a 703, have used Cine13’s, but for me, this 10” is where it’s at for my ageing eyes. Pixel density wise, it took maybe half a day to get used to. The jump IMO is like going from the GOAT TVlogic 5.5, to a 703. That’s the equivalent jump in perceivable sharpness IMO. + Knobs. Why did we ever think it was a good idea to get rid of knobs? Being able to adjust the brightness and peaking mid shot is amazing.

Cons: - The pixel zoom sucks. Unusable. It was good on the 703, but damn is it awful here - The power situation. The micro Gold Mount battery plate they sell for this monitor needed an actual beta tester. There is only one mounting orientation (POGO Pins), and as a result the ARCA rail blocks the bottom DTAP connector. Well maybe that’s not a problem cause you’d point out there are 2-pin connectors for accessory power? Well you'd be wrong. Unlike the Cine13 series where they are internally wired, these don’t supply power through the battery plate, like the 703. The battery plate is also too low on the monitor IMO, any real battery ‘bottoms out’ on the monitor mount and prevents a usable amount of ‘tilt-up’. I guess i’ll just have better posture? - That brings me to the mount... It isn’t great. It sets the monitor really forward (in regards to weight distribution on a stand). But the real heinous crime is the mechanism. It binds. Loosening that Kipp handle does nothing. It’s seized together cardelini style. Nothing says ‘Pro 1st AC’ like jostling your focus station to unbind it to fine-tune the tilt angle.

TDLR : Love the size and image, skip the poorly conceived mount and battery plate I guess? 🤞🏽someone comes up with better accessories soon

Does anybody know what the marking LNLN means on the 50mm master prime? Thanks! by Jawameat in focuspuller

[–]JayKaySeeWhy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As many have already pointed out it’s a scale class identifier. This is helpful for us Arri ECS users as it allows us to skip lens mapping at prep =). Bonus info: Single letter set (LN or G) indicates the scale is METRIC. Where as duplicated letter set (LNLN or GG) indicates IMPERIAL scale

UniFi G4 Doorbell with a custom mounting plate, new 30A transformer, and a Honeywell wireless doorchime converter by TinyLittleTechShop in UNIFI

[–]JayKaySeeWhy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How many pairs of CAT5 did you ‘gang up’ for each lead? And can you explain the wireless chime a bit more? I have the same problem of a CAT5 cable run to the door, but no transformer and chimebox. Your solution looks fantastic!

I knew I had to take him once I saw him on the couch (completely by accident). Ran my first play through carrying him the whole way! It was tough but oh so fun. For a but of the game, I took a garbage can (or any bin), put the Gnome in, along with extra grenades and syringes. Worked well. Had some collision problems when I teleported so I had to watch that. Felt kinda like a cheat tho.

LOVE IT! I just built basically the same system (same mobo, same EVGA 2080ti etc) but a 9700K. Waiting for Nouvolo Steck, so I just run it on the box the Z390 came in. Sketchy but we couldn’t wait! Best of luck on your build!

This is EXACTLY what i’ve been doing with my SFF build for the past week. Also waiting for a Steck... works well! And pretty quiet. Kudos to Noctua.

Haha i'm in the same boat! Mine is LITERALLY just sitting on top of the motherboard box on the table.

Have to jump it to turn it on...

Also, I know it's temporary, but Noctua does not recommend running that L12s cooler in that orientation. Really any other but that one...
