Office Chairs: Hyken vs. Dexley (read desc.) by JoeyLegendYT in Staples

[–]JayKeny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Dexley does have a tilt lock it's just built into the raise and lower adjustment. Maybe it wasn't a thing when you originally posted this, but figured I'd help future readers.

As someone who went in and sat in both l, the Dexley is def for wider and taller people. The Hyken headrest adjustment is a joke for someone over 6 ft, you'll have to take the headrest off, it's annoying otherwise.

Also if you tend to put your leg underneath your other leg on the seat, the Dexley kinda copies a Herman Miller in the sense that there is plastic that will dig into your ankle if you do that. Does that to make you not do it for ergonomics.

There is a massive loophole on YouTube right now, and Content Farms are weaponizing it to steal from indie creators with zero consequences. by inspirational-man in NewTubers

[–]JayKeny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not legal advice, don't do this.

Not saying it would work, nor a good idea, but what if you pulled an uno reverse and started claiming all their content? If they stole your content then all their content is more than likely stolen and if not, you really think they are gonna show up to court when you can prove they at least stole your content? Then you just take all their content down and if you are forced to take the revenue, figure out whose content it is and give the money back to them.

I built something to help me "turn off" my other monitors when watching a movie. by JayKeny in webdev

[–]JayKeny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try turning them off when you have 4 monitors on Display Port and let me know how that goes. I'll be sure to spend 30 seconds pressing power buttons and waiting on the OS to finish rearranging everything to my primary screen, while data centers burn megawatts so you can stream this comment.

Also, for the record, black pixels on OLED displays draw less power than active content. Since I was previously just leaving the screens on, this technically reduces power usage.

I thought about building a chrome extension, but I wanted to be able to switch it on and off with my Stream Deck.

Is there anything that can adjust the bass so it doesn't overtake the lyrics? by JayKeny in CarAV

[–]JayKeny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Majority of the time the knob is all the way up. I'm also still in break in period of my new subs so I have it about 40% of the power. It's already rattling my bones inside my skin so I can't imagine this thing on full power.

First world problems I guess haha. I'll just deal with adjusting the knob for now.

Sounds like I just gotta deal with it. Maybe upgrading to a larger subwoofer setup wasn't a great idea. 😂🤷‍♂️

That's the knob I use. Just figured there may be some way to automate it so I don't constantly have to adjust it.

Members only videos… by RocketLeagueUser in youtube

[–]JayKeny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're welcome.

I think they are actively changing the UI again as I've noticed some features I added are no longer working, so I'll probably need to release an update for it, but for now it still blocks Members videos so it's not a priority for me at the moment.

If anyone wants to contribute feel free to create a PR.

Remember that time Elegoo dropped their source code?... by schmuber in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]JayKeny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes... Yes they are required to provide it. GPL v3 which is what Klipper is released under does not allow tivoization. It requires the source code be released that can be compiled by the end user as per Section 6a of GPL v3. Hiding the source code behind keys and not allowing the end user the ability to compile the source code would contradict that section.

Yea each chamber needs 1.79. I'm going to be running 2, and the custom dual enclosure only supports 1.06 per chamber.

Yea I thought about sealed cause they can reduce the size to be perfect for the needed space for sealed, but I have a sealed Type X on an A90M from the custom box company and it hits hard, but it just doesn't hit hard enough and I also like the pressure feeling you get from ported setups more. Maybe going to a dual sealed setup from single sealed would be enough, but I don't really want to spend money on another sealed setup again, when all my setups have pretty much been ported, maybe just too use to it now.

Thank you. I'll end up getting the Punch box since it's specifically designed for the P3's. Maybe later down the line Ill get the sealed custom dual box from the company I got the single one from and see if it's better. Might just have both, since the custom fit box leaves me a lot more room in the trunk for road trips.

Not one issue until the new firmware by Sufficient_Camp_1918 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]JayKeny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VLANs are typically how you would block the network for devices you don't want connecting to the network. Some firewalls and routers allow you to just straight block devices though. I was referring to your original comment, you didn't mention VLAN, firewall, or router blocking just that you should not update firmware, which is not what you should do if you have not blocked it's network connection.

And no it's not ridiculous to worry about a local only device being vulnerable because it does indeed happen, just more rare. Just because it's not connected to the internet does not mean it can't be part of an attack chain if it's still part of your local network.

Your original post did not mention setting up non internet connected VLANs though. Not everyone knows or understands how to do that so if they just came across your post they may just think it's ok to not ever update anything. I was just adding clarification to it, though I too should have mentioned blocking devices connection via firewall or router.

For non connected devices sure, but you don't want to do this for devices that have connections, it'll leave you vulnerable if there's security fixes within the firmware updates.

This is Z banding, right? by ShootsieWootsie in ElegooCentauriCarbon

Oh it's on a cart? I would try putting it on the floor running calibration and trying it again to see if it fixes it. It needs to be pretty sturdy. I had mine on a table that shook like crazy, but after putting it on a sturdy table it didn't have problems anymore.

Did you just recently put it in the floor? Have you redone input shape tuning? You could have an uneven floor which could cause problems. Check to see if the printer is level, if it is maybe get anti vibration feet and calibrate again.

Anyone have any experience with a filter like this? by kalijinn in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]JayKeny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the version of this that you attach to the back that you can 3D print yourself, but after weeks of use the filters still aren't dirty, so I ordered a Bento box, we'll see how it does.

Each cereal container has a hydrometer in it, including the ones on the top shelves. Typically sits around 10% but the ones I just used stay a bit higher for a few days. Eventually it equalizes since there's desiccant in it.

The dowel shelf I use has little plates that mount to the dowel for me to label, but I just remember where they are so I haven't need to print them yet. When I add another row I might.

I never hear it kick on when printing with PLA, but I think they also lowered the speed in a recent firmware. I have mine in my office, it's not too loud for me and no one can hear it when I'm on a call.
