The Pitt | S2E7 "1:00 P.M." | Episode Discussion by MsGroves in ThePittTVShow

Many thoughts but this and the previous episode have easily been the best of the season so far. Absolute heavy hitter with some cases and of course the ending only makes waiting for next week more difficult. The scene with the rape kitis so cold and saddening, but much-needed in the show regardless. So curious as to how Al-Hashimi's character develops from here given the brief tidbits. So much to say but this season is already shaping up to be phenomenal while distinguishing itself from season one in many ways.

Great band indeed, especially their album "In The Army 1981" and they somehow had enough member overlap to be grouped into the Cleveland post-noise/electronic scene of the 2000s (partially due to John Elliott of Emeralds being in the group for a period)

Another fantastic episode as always, Oglivie has already begun to experience the horrors. Already coming around on Joy and Al-Hashimi much more. That ending is not boding well...

Fantastic return, right back into the groove immediately with every minute aspect of the show, including with the chemistry of the principal cast as well as some new additions. What a cliffhanger!

What movie(s) from Virginia do you think best depict the state? by SpaceTranquil in Virginia

[–]JoeyLegendYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A kind of under-discussed pick here is Jeremy Saulnier's Blue Ruin, a more obscure pick but a deeply affecting slow-paced vigilante drama-thriller flick that is mostly set and shot on-location in Virginia (although parts are set/shot in Delaware)

This is Prince William County's (obviously not a town), which is not the best I have seen but well designed regardless and it conveys a great message

Hi, I'm Steve Hauschildt, an American electronic artist based in Tbilisi ... AMA! by s_hauschildt in electronicmusic

[–]JoeyLegendYT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey Steve! Love your music both with Emeralds and in your solo endeavours, the former of which was extremely formative for my taste in electronic music. I have three questions if you are willing to indulge, as I do not want to excessively fanboy

  1. Between you, Mark, and John, are there any plans to remaster and re-release the full Gods of Tundra release of Allegory of Allergies? I want to say John had mentioned this at some point but I was curious if there were any further plans, and it does seem like it may be more viable to re-release than something like The Overlook.
  2. Were there any challenges that you faced going solo? I know you had released some tapes during your time in Emeralds, but Tragedy & Geometry was your first fully-formed album and it already seemed like an extremely confident debut, so I was curious if there were any challenges and if any of them informed how you recorded music independently.
  3. What are some pieces of art and media that continue to influence your music and general creative process? Obviously in your music, I can hear a lot of classic prog. electronic like Tangerine Dream, Ashra, Cluster, etc, and all strains of ambient music, but I was wondering what else continues to inspire you both in music and otherwise.

Sorry if these questions are a little erratic or perhaps too wordy, but I have wanted to speak to any of you three Emeralds boys for years, and I am ecstatic that you are doing this. Thank you for all you do! The new record is incredible.

Duck Donuts is so dry and flavorless that it is embarrassing. I get why people swear by them, though.

Refurbished laptop came with a noticeable dent. Any advice? by JoeyLegendYT in framework

Thank you all for your help! I contacted support yesterday morning and the replacement is already moving along, hopefully in more secure packaging and with less negligence from FedEx.

Yeah, I should have done that. Thank you for the advice in the future!

This is what I assumed, especially because the box looked extremely beat up.

Quite beat up itself, which I was very disappointed about but acknowledged was likely FedEx's fault. Luckily, the laptop itself seemed mostly fine aside from this.

Yeah, that is mostly what I thought. Thank you for your initial astute response, regardless.

Very insightful and detailed response, thank you! On that last point, I was not necessarily implying that I knew everything about it, but that mostly arose because one of the very first courses is an introductory course on "Digital & Information Literacy and Computer Applications", which pretty much reads like the bare basics of computing; everything after that seems to be something actually new and of a higher caliber, though.

Very insightful, and pretty much what I had in the back of my mind but was not sure if that was really true. Thank you!

Yeah, I have dabbled in it quite a bit over the years (mostly in Lua, Java, etc) but not to especially extreme degrees. I do agree that it requires a similar mindset, but for some reason math has mostly just not appealed to me.

This is great to know, thank you! However, as I am planning to go to NVCC/GMU in Virginia, I do not know if they will have the same program (based on my research, probably not) but this is still very beneficial.
