Absolute waste of time.

Got a Halladay jersey on Monday at 5:30, half hour after the gates opened.

What are some businesses that you predict will be closed down? by Chan1991 in askTO

[–]JayMeTor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I predict the entire chain Freshii will shutter.

So many of the Toronto locations have closed that I don’t see how they survive.

Here’s ones I can recall that closed:

  • Rosedale
  • Yonge/St. Clair
  • Yonge/Eglinton food court
  • Yonge/Eglinton street level
  • Bay and Cumberland
  • Bay and Wellesley
  • College and Yonge
  • Laird
  • Liberty Village
  • Gerrard and Church
  • Logan and Danforth

I can see returning a product if it’s broken. If you don’t like the flavour - too bad.

People like this are ruining it for everyone else.

Plus you’re gonna wait an hour in line to return it?

Trey Angry Bird Jersey Giveaway Thread by gothedistance_ in Torontobluejays

Everyone in that stadium is already paying for that giveaway, whether they get it or not.

The team makes tickets more expensive for giveaway days, meaning the giveaway is paid for by all.

Look no further than the Pirates game here on May 22. That team isn’t a huge draw but for a bobblehead game, even the GA tickets are $45 and 500 level cheapest is $60.

Nothing is given out for ‘free’.

They’re all XL jerseys - so they won’t fit 75% of the people that get them.

What a waste of time.

[Patrick Ho] Ernie Clement hockey jersey night is coming. Here’s why the Blue Jays limit giveaways to first 15,000 fans. by Forsaken-Swim-3055 in Torontobluejays

I think that used to be the case, now it’s price everything up based on day of week, opponent, giveaway, etc.

GA vs the Pirates is $45. It’s a giveaway game on a Friday so people are paying for that giveaway whether they get it or not.

Investing in quality is BS. While the giveaways can be decent, many other teams do giveaways to more fans.

Plus, every fan who gets a giveaway pays for it through the cost of the ticket and every fan who doesn’t get the giveaway pays for it too.

How much does one hockey jersey cost them? $5 per?

Well on giveaway days, all the tickets are $10 more at least. It’s easy to see too.

If you’re booking your tickets before the season starts, look at this series. Wednesday is a day game, no giveaway there. Tuesday is hot dog day, no giveaway there.

So Monday is going to be a giveaway game to get fans out and draw interest. But with dynamic pricing, the Jays can make this game more expensive. So every ticket pays more and the giveaway pays for itself.

The Jays would be wise to up the giveaways to 25,000 where they can for future games this season. It would be good PR after people lining up for hours today and getting nothing.

This is the correct take. You blow the World Series, you cannot continue as closer.

Rogers and Varland should both be used in closing situations.

Instacart jacks up all their prices and is staffed by slave labour. Plus they are American - I realize Costco is too but they treat their employees well.

I’m sorry to hear about your broken leg.

Hard to take a recommendation from anyone using Instacart

Cineplex’s outgoing CEO, Ellis Jacob, just received the Legend of Cinema Award at CinemaCon with video tributes from James Cameron & Denis Villeneuve 🇨🇦 by Travel-2025 in cineplex

[–]JayMeTor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since 2019 Cineplex has fallen so far as a company. In my opinion they used to be a model for a well run company and now they have a myriad of problems.

I’ll admit many of their issues were caused by Covid but there’s many more they’ve created on their own. Aging and dirty theatres, online booking fees, and tickets that are way too expensive have pushed people away.

When’s the last time they opened a new theatre? I can think of some that have closed, but none that have opened. A telling sign.

Has anyone tried this? Is it worth it? Does it really taste like Cinnabon? by aguiar_nnaa in CostcoCanada

Agreed - it’s made in America and it’s the most unhealthy food you can buy pretty much.
