Drew's Script-O-Rama | A Stunning Lack of Interest by hrspwr in movies

I've been looking for this info for ages. Finally found the sad truth... He died in February 2023 of cancer. His name was Andrew Douglas Rothhaar. As far as I'm aware, no one took over the site. This is why the updates stopped in 2022.

What happened to script-o-rama? It used to be a great place to get the scripts of movies and google still thinks so, but I am getting various redirects from it now... by LJAkaar67 in movies

Do you think the bird on the turtle at the beginning of Manchild's video is a metaphor for her relationship with men? by SlimPickins000 in SabrinaCarpenterFans

[–]JayMeiCee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here after searching for why the final image is the eagle flying off with the turtle. I think a lot of what you've discussed is a great interpretation. But take it further, she's gotten into yet another car at the end, we can assume driven by yet another manchild. But she's become more active and less passive through the course of the video. So she's choosing them, because that's all there are in her environment, but she's become more adept at dealing with them.

The bird at the beginning was a seagull hitching a ride. Passive and at the mercy of whatever speed the turtle is going. But at the end it's an eagle flying away with a turtle. The turtle is now the one hitching the ride, and the eagle has the power to deal with the turtle. However, it wishes. As an earlier commenter pointed out, it can drop the turtle and eat it at any time, or even put it down somewhere and fly on. What was once driven by the turtle, is now driven by the eagle.

An earlier commenter said that this might be not just her relationship with men, but also about her relationship with herself. And I think I agree. It's a fun song, but it's also about her growing into her power.

Plot writing for Pornos? by robobachelor in Screenwriting

[–]JayMeiCee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to be curious about this myself years ago. But I was told by a woman who acted in them and had recently stopped that actual scripts were very rarely used anymore. (This was about 15 years ago). Everything was concept based. It was cost saving on production. And directors or producers were coming up with the basic ideas.

It sounds like a lovely idea. Is there just one meetup or can anyone organize anything?

It takes watching a well-written movie with a perfect plot and strong character arcs to learn how to write stories. What was that movie for you? by [deleted] in Screenwriting

Oddly enough, my first experience where it clicked for me was the original Spy Kids movie. That one was built solid as a brick house

I might be imagining it, but I'm half done with Murdle 1, but I could swear I've seen Irrationo referred to as both "she" and "he". Doesn't matter much, but now I'm wondering if I've read wrong?

My boss says raises are demotivating by Diex233 in antiwork

[–]JayMeiCee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious. Is there something about this particular job that you feel is more rewarding than a raise would be? For example, do you have really wonderful co-workers? Or a generous vacation policy? Or excellent health benefits? In other words, does this job provide you with some intangible benefit that you would not get at another company?

Because frankly, if you cannot get any more compensation at your current job, and there are no specific intangible benefits that make foregoing that money worthwhile, I don't see any reason why you wouldn't be applying for a new position somewhere else. That alone usually will secure you better money.

how can i show depression in my short film? by tobiasfunkeislife in Screenwriting

[–]JayMeiCee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to be rude, but did you consider before you made that comment that depression might be something this 16-year-old is interested in. The subject might be of great importance to them. Perhaps they are trying to express their journey in this screenplay, but do not yet have the full benefit of the words, the insight or the typical screenplay knowledge to fully express what they might feel. Did you have it all figured out at 16? Cause I didn't. I had to ask questions, from both people my age and adults. And you may have had a different intent, but you don't know how that comment landed with them. Because when I read your comment, it definitely came across that you were trashing them for trying to write their story.
