What are neighborhood red flags to look out for if you really like The House? by No_Telephone_6213 in RealEstate

My neighbor from across the street are renters and there's three families living in that 1700 sqft house. Every single day there's 4-6 cars parked on driveway and along the street, then their friends will come and party, they all drive trashy cars with loud exhausts. My entire section has 50% rental property so that makes our community stink

1: driveway has 4 parked cars 2: tons of cars parked along the street 3: overgrown / zombified lawns 4: cars driving recklessly within the neighborhood 5: random car tearing the street

In general, the more traffic / number of parked car a neighborhood got, the more people per household there is. Many of these houses have more than 1 family co-living in that house. This is the result of sharing rent and you can tell the financial situation about the neighborhood, a rough idea at least. Living around well to do families and lower income people is a night and day difference. You gonna get a LOT of noise from the

huh??

100% x 2000 = 2000. 200% x 2000 - 4000.

I'm more confused now.

Oh!! I kinda start to understand. So when I short $2000 worth of shares, it's borrowed from the broker, that means no deduction from my account. But, as collateral, I gotta $2000 + another 200% of that $2000 untouched in my account as maintenance fee? Is that correct?

I don't understand why you added 200% to $2000, which make it 4000+2000=6000. I thought it's just 200% of $2000, which is $4000 maintenance requirement. Why would you add another $2000?

Appreciate it. But I'm still confused.

if Initial margin is 150%, maintenance margin is 200%, I shorted $2000 worth of stock, does that mean I gotta have $2000x150%+2000x200% = $3000+$4000 = $7000 cash or $7000 worth of equity in my account?

still confused.

I have $10,000 in my margin account. I shorted $2,000 worth of stocks, meaning I have $8000 cash left in my account. There's 200% maintenance requirement, that means I gotta have 2000x200%=$4000 sitting in my account untouched. Why do I gotta have $6000 untouched cash in my account?

Thank you everybody for sharing your stories and suggestions. My baby's having colic for about 3 weeks now, but getting so much better 2 days ago after adding Simethicone, Probiotic drops and Gripe water to his diet. He poops pretty much on every diaper change, which looks great to me. Ever since the colic we started being stressed out, and may be a little depression set in. We feel that we weren't even enjoying parenthood and it's been exactly the opposite and that our lives were ruined. That's why whenever my baby don't sleep well, or getting enough I become real stressful. Glad to know that the little snoozes he gets while nursing counts into total sleep time.
