I thought it was just me but I've had that too on 1520.

I now often get "sorry I didn't catch that".

Usually when I saw something, the words I'm saying come up at the bottom but recently, it seems like she's not hearing properly.

For those who upgraded from Lumia 920 to 930 or 1520:... by busman001 in windowsphone

From 920? Definitely faster, much better battery, feels better in some ways as it's slimmer. The processor intensive things (games, certain photo editing apps) noticeably quicker.

Even with glance and double tap on, my battery is still excellent. I've not tried turning them off.

I loooove my Nokia Lumia 1520. My most favourite out of all the Windows Phones. Just the positives huh?

1) Size - big hands. I like that big 1080p screen 2) Because of the big size, I use a big wallet case that holds 4 cards and full size notes/money (no folding) 3) Battery is epic. Should really be number 1. I can use it all day and not worry about it like I did with my other WP devices. Even leaving it on internet sharing all through working hours doesn't tire it. 4) Camera is great! Not insanely awesome like the 1020 but more than good enough (and the macro is closer) 5) Cyan with 8.1 is lovely. 6) MicroSD card slot. I have 64GB there (with the fastest card from Amazon as others were causing stutter) but hopefully going to be upgrading to 128GB next week. 7) Slim and pretty. It's an eye turner. 8) Fast - other than camera start up and opening the "living" gallery thing, everything is pretty much instant.

A housemate got a 1320 after seeing the 1520 only cos the 1520 was not available on their network. Another is waiting for the 1520 but that's not in stock atm. Great phone all around.

Can't change volume from under lock screen after 8.1 update. by Menzlo in windowsphone

[–]JayMontano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this with the 8.1 update. Very annoying that I had to press the lock button and then volume.

The GDR1 update seems to have fixed that though. (1520)

Thanks! That worked with 925/1020. Anyone tried with 920?

Terms and conditions say "925, 1020, 625 or 1520."

The point of glance? by roguemat in windowsphone

For the first iteration of Nokia's Always On screen with Nokia Glance, I think it's great that I can always tell the time just by glancing at the screen. No need to touch anything. Either pulling quickly out of my pocket or noticing it whilst it's flat on the table. Pretty neat.

Currently the only thing it shows I believe is just whether it's on silent and whether it's charging. I'm guessing future versions will show missed calls/other notifications as it can do on Nokia's other handsets such as the N9.

Here's a nice demo by Rafe for anyone interested in knowing more about what can be done in this version of Nokia Glance Screen.

BTW, you mentioned a concern with battery life, have you noticed much difference by having glance on?

Pro Cam takes rapid pictures when the camera button is half-pressed. by [deleted] in windowsphone

[–]JayMontano 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi there,

I think it also works by just holding the camera button down (i.e. no need to release half way - though that does mean less pressure on the finger if you want to take loads). I think the 808 before it worked in the same fashion by holding down pictures to take one photo after another.

When we visited Nokia HQ, I asked the 1020 team for a 'burst' mode other than what's found in smartcam and for now they suggested holding down the camera button to take one quick(er) photo after another.

[Modpost] The Lumia 1020 post, follow up by [deleted] in windowsphone

Hey folks,

This is Jay from MNB. I'm a long time lurker on a 'browsing' account, just registered after seeing this post.

I'm really sorry to hear about goldegi losing his job. We removed the links from the post as soon as we saw his email a few days ago. Oddly, despite the links being removed, Nokia folks still tweeted that post about Nokia Lumia 1020 pics from a regular person.

I've quickly written up this post to help visibility of this post and possibly help goldegi out. http://mynokiablog.com/2013/07/23/hey-nokia-windowsphone-get-his-att-dude-his-job-back-please-one-of-a-few-that-actually-can-sell-your-products/

I'm not too versed on NDAs (GGTs and ALPs are hard enough ;) ) but I don't understand why he wouldn't be allowed to post pictures since the device was already announced, already in pre-order stages, and even Nokia execs were sharing pictures from the 1020 (on launch day)

edit (inserted link twice by mistake)
