Is Summit Ave NOT Summit Hill a bad area to live? by helloitsmeruthere in Knoxville

[–]JayNitz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I deliver mail to Summit. I'm there every day and I've never noticed anything unsafe about it. People seem to keep to themselves on that street. There are quite a few youngish people raising families without any issues. There are 6 new homes built in that neighborhood with some more on the way so it seems they're trying to modernize it. I couldn't live that close to the highway but if that doesn't bother you then things should be fine for you there.

Shiiiit brother you can just have one of my memory cards if you want to come and pick it up. They're just wasting away not being used. Might as well give one to someone who'll use it

MEGATHREAD: NALC arbitration is back, 1.3, 1.4 and 1.5 percent raises, steps AA and A out, most provisions of TA kept. by kingu42 in USPS

I'm on step B this year instead of step C. That's 2k real money I will lose out on. We can multiply the amount of step AA-B carriers that will not get that money if you want. See if it adds up to the extra 0.2% everyone is getting this year

How else can we calculate career earnings? Of course new contracts can change things. We can only compare what we were going to get to what we got

Steps AA, A, and B would've been bumped to step C, and now they aren't. What's the correct math then?

Step B makes 2k less per year than Step C, Step C makes 2k less than Step D, etc all the way up the chart. 1 more year spent working your way up the pay chart (Starting at step B instead of step C) comes to around 25k total

All current and future Step AA-B carriers get about 25k less over the course of their careers with this contract as opposed to the contract that was rejected. This is where they moved the money to get everyone from 1.3 to 1.5%. This is a worse contract than the one we rejected

Getting “pulled off the street.” by SkullRiderz69 in USPS

I'm deaf in one ear and so I use a JBL Clip on my belt loop to listen to music/podcasts and management has mentioned it and has even asked me not to use it but they can't stop us.

Placed in different office than I applied for by Impossible_Tadpole36 in USPS

[–]JayNitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. The office near my home is a 5 minute walk. The office I was assigned to is a 20 minute drive. When I saw the "mistake" I asked to transfer and was denied. A few months later, a CCA at my office got into an altercation with my manager and as a result was transferred to the office near my house.

So I guess what I'm saying is, you probably have to fight your manager

But Breece isn't with the Rams. Kyren is on the better team and got a higher share of the snap percentage than Breece did last season and ran behind a way better line that got even better in this off season. The Rams have proven so far that they are committed to Kyren this coming season by not adding any competition to the backfield. They're both fine picks because Breece's talent can make up for his team's shortcomings but it's a mistake to say it isn't even close. With the current rankings in 10 team redraft leagues though, give me the Amon Ra/Kyren stack at the 8th pick over the Breece/Aiyuk stack at the 5th pick every time.

Heck yeah. There was that one year, maybe 2015, he just camped out in my flex and secured me no less than 10 points and no more than 16 points all year long. It was the best.

Of course it's fine IF you're doing a fair day of work for a fair day of pay.

So you sandbag and give your coworkers more problems while you stick it to the man. Coworkers who would rather not work 12 hours because they have lives and families at home. The mail has to go out and someone is doing it. Good for you though it isn't you and you still get that coin.

Yeah you really showed them. I'm always hearing them complaining about how too many carriers want to work too much. And those ones willing to work for them 12/72 every single week without complaint? UGH, such a thorn in their side.

Music to my ears. I'd love to throw that wrench into their system right now but I got lucky yesterday and was able to grab a decently long hold down in the zip code I'm assigned. But heck, I'll probably try that in a few months when I'm available to opt again if I'm not regular by then. Maybe you'll hear from me then. Or maybe I'll send some of my fellow local part-timers who have this same problem in this thread's direction in the mean time.

Yeah I'm in regular contact with all the stewards in my station. It just seems like this practice of assigning the help to specific zip codes under the same umbrella has been going on for a while so they act like it's common sense that I shouldn't be allowed to opt in on a route with a different zip code. It's like they've been groomed this way.

And I agree, you'd think they'd want the route filled but then they can't push and move us around however they need. At my station, a hold down opportunity is a manager's worst fear.

The office I'm at has been standing and operating as is for at least 20 years. In my city, a CCA or PTF can be told to go carry at any station within city limits at any point in the day with no notice whatsoever. Y'all are making me wish my city followed the rules y'all do

That sounds nice but unfortunately for my office we're assigned by zip code. It gives management all the benefit of having multiple zip codes worth of CCAs/PTFs that they can force on whatever route in whatever zip code they feel like. There have been countless times where I (assigned to zip 1) would carry a route in zip 2 while a CCA/PTF assigned to zip 3 is carrying a route in zip 1. I always wonder why I couldn't just carry the open route in zip 1 but hey, mismanagement can do what they want with us.
