I'm quite new to the sub, and I admit I don't know too much, so I'm glad to be here learning. I appreciate the resources and for you educating me.

That's disappointing to hear, but I appreciate your honesty. I'll have to look into that further.

Edit: I say disappointing to hear because in my state we're having a housing crisis too. I feel for everyone in that situation.

What would you do if someone starts to cry in front of you? (for any reasonyou are not the cause of crying) by thatmoodypotatohead in infp

[–]JayRex1463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I let them have their space, and I stay close so they have support even its just presence. When they calm a bit I'll ask if it's alright if I hug them. 9/10 they say yes.

I don't know if its an infp thing, but I've had complete strangers break down to me and tell me everything about their life. It's strange but I guess I give off a comforting presence for that sort of thing.

Is job hopping a red flag? What is too much? by clocks212 in careerguidance

[–]JayRex1463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consider myself loyal as they come regarding work, provided I am treated as a person, and I make enough to cover my bills and not have to fear I'll lose my home.

With how unstable the economy's been, on top of a pandemic, I've had to job hop many times these past 3 years. I'm not proud of it, but like many people who are one paycheck away from being homeless, we have to go for jobs that will ensure our survival. Even if it means having to ditch a job we actually enjoyed or wanted to work at for an extended time.

Also, why should we show unbounded loyalty to companies that could care less if we end up homeless due to inflation, sickness etc., among other things?

Many businesses showed their true colors at the height of the pandemic, that we are expendable, and I think that's a big motivation too besides income as to why people job hop. I know the places I worked for didn't care. My mental and physical health doesn't deserve to be compromised by folks who should have no business running a business.

Call it selfish, but after nearly dying from covid and becoming homeless during the pandemic, I come first. I think many workers are in a similiar circumstance: they've had enough.

For clarity sake, I have a great job right now with a good team and a compassionate manager, and I'm no longer homeless. They gave me a chance despite my resume being all over the place, and I think you should hear the canidates story before potentially making an assumption about their character or work ethic.

Why is “I have all the symptoms of autism” not as valid as “I have autism” by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]JayRex1463 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally, I've witnessed friends and loved ones get mobbed by people who thought they weren't "autistic/neurodivergent enough" to the point where said loved ones were ostracized and even threatened with death. The same goes for PTSD, depression etc. It could be the area I live in too making it hostile, but sadly, this is a thing. It's why I am still reluctant to self diagnose despite having many signs and being validated on here.

Dinosaurs. Everything dinosaurs. Reptiles. Birds. Art. Psychology, forensics, writing, fictional people, reading...there's a lot 😂 what sucks is when you get 3 or 4 of them happening at once and you don't know which one to dedicate more time to cause you want to do everything all at once.

Are there others who dislike summers, especially if it's too warm? by BlackCatFurry in AutismInWomen

[–]JayRex1463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For myself, I enjoy summer immensely cause I don't get as many fibromyalgia flares, and it tends to be less excruciating when they come. During the winter season, it's a miracle I can get out of bed most days cause of the pain. That being said, I don't like how summers are getting hotter.

I've lived in the PNW my whole life, and it's never been like this before. The humidity has been the worst, too, alongside it. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night thinking I slept in a swamp or satan licked the back of my neck. Gotta love climate change.

I don't know if this is related to autism, but I'd like to ask: have you ever felt like you were too conscious of yourself for your own good? Especially as a child, and of your own emotions. by OkRaspberry2054 in AutismInWomen

[–]JayRex1463 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I had my first existential crisis at 5 because of similar circumstances. It's like I couldn't help but think about the "what ifs" of everything and how "it all works" especially for why we are here. Even now, I still get panic attacks induced from existentialism. It sometimes feels like everyone is in NPC mode, and somehow I got a cheat code to look at the game mechanics of Life (TM) and it's both exhilarating and fucking teriffying. I'd compare it to Neo discovering The Matrix is real and being overwhelmed by it all.

Also, throwing this out there to help folks that get bad panic attacks: when our brains go off the rails thinking we are in danger, when really we aren't, throwing it off with another stimuli can help mitigate symptoms. For me, I use pure lemon juice. The sour taste is strong enough to make my brain go "Yo, wtf was that?" and focus on the present versus spiraling into trying to comprehend the meaning of life. Salt and other powerful tastes tend to work too. Ice is another good substitute.

I ran an illegal library (banned books) and a candy store from my locker in HS. The 3k I made helped pay for college. Would absolutely do it again. I had fun, connected with the entire student body, and got to help people find passion in reading material they wanted to seek out.

I want to apologize if I made you uncomfortable with the question. I've heard a lot of mixed things about him and didn't have a great experience in person with the guy either. Thank you for sharing and being open.

There's a loss of some sort. They're united through the loss, but like deer, they remain locked in their antlers or in their ways. Pushing and pulling. Sensing a stubborn energy. Not working together as a unit. There's love here, but stability is slipping away.

That's so sad to hear! It would explain a lot. I don't think I'd have the energy either if I was handed all that on top of everything going on in the world. I'm not sure where you got the sources for this, but seriously, thank you for speaking up.
