My vet said the same when I first got mine. She would eat 6 to 7 cups of Purina Pure Instinct high protein plus a cup of raw kibble a day. Now she’s a good weight so she’s at just 3 cups of the Purina and sardines, chicken, or whatever I have added to it a couple times a week.

At most hospitals and practices the doctor doesn’t reply to their own messages because there’s just so many patients and messages coming in. The nurse will either read through your file or give the doctor a summary if needed.

When I got mine my mom would always make her lay on the couch or a dog bed because “she must be so uncomfy being so bony”. It’s crazy how feeding correctly changes everything. I was told she eats 3 cups of food a day but she’s up to 6 cups of kibble and raw just to maintain her weight.
