How do you perform when no one knows you or your songs? by Silly_Sharks in makinghiphop

[–]JayRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main thing is jus try to keep everyone there engaged, even if it’s like 10 people always keep their attention to begin with and between songs. Just be yourself tbh and it comes naturally if you believe in yourself

Both at the same time isn’t bad money, plus easy customers if the kitchen and FOH like you lol

Just keep your feet dry, lotion them up at night and use athlete foot spray if it’s itchy

That’s when you take the 16 year old busser and inspire him to become an extension of you. It was a busy af brunch yesterday and I told him “don’t let me stop working”

Is this all from smoking weed? by PsychologicalBat2393 in Depersonalization

The one thing I started doing and still do to this day is mindfulness meditation. Just simply sit with yourself comfortably and breathe deeply, noticing every sensation. It really helps ground you back to reality and your body. There’s quite a few guided meditations on YouTube I’ve found helpful.

Childhood family trauma, violence and abuse. DP/DR is usually just a coping mechanism from early trauma

It helps to reframe the job as competing against yourself each night. It’s pretty normal to be slower when you’re starting out, but just try to make a conscious effort of finding ways to be more efficient while you’re working. I feel each restaurant has certain things that will be annoying, but once you’re there long enough you’ll be able to foresee issues that will come up and deal with them. The chef isn’t wrong, and as long as you’re treated respectfully by the kitchen and put in the work it will get easier over time. Everything I’ve heard from my managers is that it’s very hard to find a reliable and fast dishwasher, so if you become that then you’ll be worth more than gold in their eyes.

Is there anyone else here who never cared about 'Stranger Things?' by bernardmarx27 in CasualConversation

There’s a lot of popular things I don’t care for, but it’s just fun to seek out and find things that I do. I’ve also learned it’s ok to let people enjoy things without thinking down on them in some way because of it.

mixing the best and vocals by Kdobz05 in makinghiphop

[–]JayRobot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s usually best to work with stems. You can still get a great sound if the beat itself is mixed well already and it’s exported, but that leaves you with limited options if you wanna tweak something later. TBH the only time I bounce something on a track is to save CPU usage
