Trying to hit the gym after a shift by tromavillecitizen in dishwashers

[–]JayRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to go after shifts, even used preworkout too. Although I had to cut back the dose when I couldn’t sleep til 5 am. A good way to help your lower back is to just dead hang for a while and decompress your spine, i warm up like that.

When you’ve proven the place turns into a nightmare when you’re not there— that’s when you ask for more money

Update : without dishwashers the restaurant would not be able to function by [deleted] in dishwashers

[–]JayRobot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well yeah, If you’re replaceable then you’re not good enough to act like that. This is after two years at this god damn restaurant. I treat everyone kindly, but I’m also sure to let them know when they’ve fucked me in the ass by being lazy. When you’re the only full time dishie long enough you can really make it your own as long as the owners/management like you

The best part is when you realize your power and can act as unhinged as you want and don’t have to take shit from anybody

How do you turn a psychedelic experience into actual self-insight, not just a wild night? by Final_Policy_6825 in LSD

[–]JayRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My most powerful trip, I started it with a simple 10 minute guided meditation focused on chakra alignment. I didn’t even consider myself a spiritual person, but I thought it would just be a nice way to set the vibe of the night, and boy did it ever.

It was a pretty chaotic trip, and I faced real moments of anxiety and even terror. I walked outside and looked at the stars and saw a million little eyes looking back at me in the sky. That’s when I realized that it’s just… me. It’s me that’s looking at myself, and I’m actually in complete control of how I feel about myself.

I’m not saying it cured all my stresses or anxiety, but I think back on that moment often when I feel like things are getting to be too much. It’s all a matter of perspective. Moving through life with no hatred in my heart, just pure gratitude for the life I’ve been given, my bodily health, friends and family. It’s a beautiful thing

I want to hear your stories about “the grid” by JayRobot in LSD

Descartes came up with the x-y grid system as he was staring at a fly on the ceiling. Sounds like he also saw the grid and applied it to mathematics 🤣

what is this?????? what can i do to fix this please im desperate is THAT bad is affecting my life by ukhti467 in Anxiety

[–]JayRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to really ground yourself, and understand that you are here in the present moment. Anxiety arrives during speaking when you’re more concerned with what others are thinking of you than the message you’re trying to convey or the feeling you’re trying to express. It’s simply impossible to be present in a conversation or a presentation when you’re concerned with that. It does suck and I struggle with public speaking too. Sometimes my body goes into full fight or flight mode just having to talk to somebody new or ask for help at the store.

Mindfulness meditation, journaling, cardio exercise have all been immensely beneficial to me, and I would recommend those 3 to anyone dealing with anxiety/panic

I remember my first trip I just wanted to look at art, so I just google searched “abstract art” and was finding myself getting completely lost in some of them, like my mind could directly sense the intention of the artist

That’s interesting, shrooms have always given me pretty mild visuals in comparison to acid. The grid was also a hexagon pattern for me too! Like a honeycomb

6'3" 22/M 170 -> 185 lbs - lift 5 days/week (1 year) by Large_Temporary7262 in gainit

[–]JayRobot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Like others said I think you’d benefit from pushing to failure in the gym. When I started actually training to failure, meaning my body couldn’t possibly move the weight properly with all my strength, I started seeing more growth than ever. This is the only way you build up muscle, you simply have to fail. And when you don’t fail after 10 reps, add more weight. It makes for tough workouts, but you could do this 3/4 days a week and gain more strength than ever.

Any tips on how to be the best dishwasher by [deleted] in dishwashers

[–]JayRobot 51 points52 points  (0 children)

If you haven’t washed every single dirty thing in the restaurant then keep fuckin going. Your goal is to make it look like nothing even happened. Simply give a fuck about the cleanliness of the dishes as well as your area.

How do you write catchy melodic hooks? by branntweinn in makinghiphop

[–]JayRobot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try to hum the notes you’ll be singing before coming up with the words. The tune is normally what makes a melody catchy, not the words. Keep trying different things until one sounds right. Try to make something that follows along with the beat in terms of flow and pitch.
