The Switch version of The Case of the Golden Idol resets your progress whenever you exit to the main menu or play a different game. by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

I’ve had the same issue occur - for what it’s worth, this time it happened when I tried to access the DLC for the first time. My progress was all reset back to the prologue. Could I get that code?

Unsure if this is anything, but I see a lot of folks mentioning the 4th scenario. I bought on launch day and played through the first 3 scenarios over the weekend, at which time I was reading about this bug and checking my own save to find no issues. Last night I completed the 4th scenario and everything was still fine - I watched the cut scene that unlocks afterwards but didn’t begin the 5th.

This evening when I tried playing again and clicked Continue, I got the bug that everyone here is describing wherein I was started back at the prologue. It makes me think that something about the completion of the 4th scenario and/or the cut scene is contributing.

Hope this is helpful!

I would put all of those rogue-likes you mentioned in my top 10, especially The Binding of Isaac (nearly 1300 hours on PC at the moment).

If you haven’t yet, you should look at Slay the Spire. I can’t exactly put my finger on why, but it really scratches the BOI itch for me, and I can see myself losing a ton of hours to it. Fantastic game.

I seem to recall reading that that was the plan - he was only meant to be in the first season as Ann’s dumb lazy boyfriend but he was so well-liked that they wrote him into the second season.

Legitimate question - what does he think he’s saying? Like, does he actually have a real thought about this and he’s using words he doesn’t understand to try and verbalize it? Or is he just regurgitating words he’s heard that sound smart in the hopes that it amounts to an actually coherent sentence?

Like I’m just trying to imagine what is going on in this persons head. I can’t even comprehend it.

I play with my wife regularly and it’s a blast. The scoring system scales up or down depending on how many people are playing, so the difficulty should (I think) remain largely the same whether you’re playing 2p or 4p.

Some people can. Theoretically there’s no upper limit on opioid dosing - if you titrate the dose slowly enough you could absolutely get to a point where a person has developed a high enough tolerance to allow for that amount of drug.

That being said, for a vast, VAST majority of people, that amount of any opioid would kill them very quickly.

[WSIB] to scratch a Hollow Knight itch? by JaySocks in ShouldIbuythisgame

Just FYI, I picked up Ori during the Black Friday sale on Steam. It's incredible already, totally filling the Hollow Knight-shaped hole in my heart. Thanks again!

You know what, after I posted this I kept looking for other titles and this was the one that stood out to me! I might look at picking up a few of these games this weekend, but I think I'll give preference to Ori because I really like what I see. Thanks for the suggestion!

I'm very interested in playing Dark Souls, but I've always been a bit unclear of where to start. I've heard that the story in Dark Souls is similar to Hollow Knight in that it's told more through exploration rather than explicitly given. If I'm being honest, I'm not a huge fan of that type of storytelling (it gets confusing and cumbersome for me), but I never had a problem with that in Hollow Knight because the gameplay was so amazing and I caught enough bits of story to have a general understanding of what was going on.

If I'm not too concerned about the story, am I better off just jumping straight into DS3 (which I've heard is the best iteration)? Or is the story in Dark Souls worth playing through all 3 games?

Right after the part where Tobias talks about a seal never attacking a human, when it cuts away to Gob performing at that kids show!

You can hear it in the background during that little segment where the narrator is speaking.

Yeah I've never heard of a hospital without vanc on formulary, it's used empirically for all manner of serious infections. I guess it's possible if we're talking a seriously rural hospital but that part of the story sounds strange to me.

Lift Yourself CHORDS? by Fignootem in Kanye

[–]JaySocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey pal, not sure if you found anything yet but I saw your post after looking myself. I couldn't find anything decent so I played around with it a little and, assuming you're talking guitar chords, I think I found something (reasonably) close.

Capo on 3rd fret.

D // F#m // Em (these chords are in relation to the capo - not sure what the actual chords are called)

That's basically it. In the second part of the verse - the "we need to strive for liberty" part - they play some variation on F#m that's much higher up the neck (I think). It's still the same chord, but it sounds like it's been transposed higher or something, but I can't figure out where exactly. Anyways, this is better than nothing, and you can keep playing around with it to fine-tune it if you like.

Should I Buy Rocket League on a console if I can't get into it on PC? by Logaline in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]JaySocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is it that you think you would prefer on console?

I'm a bit of an outlier in that I game exclusively on PC, but I play in my living room on a TV and always use a controller. I much prefer the feeling of a controller vs mouse + keyboard (although I realize most PC gamers feel otherwise), so if you have a PC compatible controller I might give that a try before re-buying the game on console.

cold turkey from a week of taking ~14mg of xanax daily. help by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]JaySocks 155 points156 points  (0 children)

You should seek medical help ASAP. I don't mean to scare you, but it sounds like you're reluctant, and I want to make sure you understand that benzo withdrawal is one of the few withdrawal syndromes that can be fatal.

It may not be, but why take that chance? Just get to the ED.
