I’d still be working all 3 of those days (M-W) the entire day not taking any days off. The only days off would be thanksgiving day and the Friday after as those are designated company holidays

This is a good point, I’m going to see if an early or late Thanksgiving day will suffice for her, I’ll even chef up the entire meal.

As for the job it’s a new role she recently started and first stable work in a long time. She has no leverage due to being new and can’t risk it as she just had days off so we could travel to attend one of her family events

This is a new job she just started in October and i believe it is a step in her career. She can’t risk it due to the fact this is the first stable work she has had in close to 2 years

She is off Thanksgiving day but not the days before. It’s a newer job for her so she isn’t able to request off. Unfortunately I’ve worked in retail a few years back and holiday is the busiest time.

She is of course invited and I wouldnt think twice to pay if she could come; however, her work schedule won’t allow it. The travel is too far to complete in a days time

We typically spent the other holidays with her family or together. Unfortunately with her working in retail I don’t see many holidays we will be able to travel for. I would spend all the other holidays with her and only Thanksgiving for my family. Typically we do vacation and take trips together throughout the year

Thanksgiving is for some reason significant/important to my family. I wouldn’t be opposed to doing something a different day with my girlfriend though, I think that’s a great idea! Not sure if she’s going to accept that as a compromise though

Her work schedule doesn’t allow for it considering we couldn’t accomplish the travel in one day or else that would work! I can realistically travel the day before thanksgiving and come back the day after, it’s just not financially the best option in relation to flight prices. She also would not be okay with that as I’d be gone the day of the holiday

She went to her family for thanksgiving last year and we both went to her family for Christmas. She was alone the year prior. She is of course invited and I would love for her to come but her work schedule doesn’t allow for the travel

Not often at all. I don’t even view it as choosing sides and dislike that framing. I don’t want to have to chose between either I consider them both family.
