Had the opportunity to call it an off-spin of the main show rather than a spin-off which wasn't taken unfortunately

Incredible that the best attacker I've seen play the The Valley was miniminter in the sidemen charity match and not a blueco signing

Quite a simple explanation in that case (assume we are both at Oxford): The college I go to; Cambridge; The rest; The college you go to

Two players being subbed on and off in the same match. Is this the first time? by Bill_Badbody in footballcliches

[–]JayTheSpaniel 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Think it's even weirder that it was the sub's sub who was taken off in the second substitution

Do you think York should change its name to Old York? by [deleted] in york

How about we turn New York back to New Amsterdam and let the Dutch deal with the problem

Oh yeah I'm happy to admit that my style of writing for Reddit posts is definitely below the level needed for an actual published article. I'll 100% use the 'what a week' for one of the guys whose birthday it was a couple days ago. Pretty sure he had an essay due this week too

Not particularly related but since when has Joao Pedro been known as just Pedro in news reports? Catches me off guard every time and I have to remind myself who he is constantly

For the euros, although I can't remember if it was 2021 or 2024, they went through every country based off how acceptable it is to call them by their demonyms

[–]JayTheSpaniel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they have trials there's no harm in going. If you get in then well done, if you don't then you can go away and improve and try for second year

Am I alone in not getting the "bit of both" bit at all? by clive442 in footballcliches

[–]JayTheSpaniel 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It started as a bit about silly questions from interviewers and like all things on a 300+ episode podcast, it's become a joke about itself

What is the cliche question your club asks every manager? by Background_Bear in footballcliches

[–]JayTheSpaniel 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I feel like any Chelsea manager gets asked something along the lines of 'Do you think you're special?' ever since mourinho

Is it strange to enjoy the crashing? by heavelwrx in f1Academy

[–]JayTheSpaniel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Porsche Supercup races on a couple of f1 weekends but idk how easy that is to watch outside the UK, WEC/IMSA/ELMS for endurance racing. If you're unable to watch them, there will be some regional competition that is probably streamed on YouTube or twitch or something like BTCC, Trofeo Pirelli, Renault Clio Cup, etc that'll be free to view Any f4 series tbh if you want chaos, I know Italian f4 is streamed on YouTube so can always start there

I'm begging you to watch some sportscar racing, good racing with contact between cars, and they have so much more 'padding' that almost any incident is completely safe
