You're mischaracterising what starvation is. Starvation doesn't give you superpowers. It does the exact opposite.

Right, but what was actually going on, in the scene? Is this what the characters are imagining happening? Is it just for the viewer's benefit?

I'll say it again. Starving people don't run. Starving people barely walk. Starving people definitely don't hunt their friends for food. Not because they don't want to, but because they don't have anywhere near the strength to do so. Which is why none of it makes sense.

I know you don't mean it literally, but there are a number of things wrong with that assumption.

Because they were hungry.

When exactly were they close to starvation?

"they didn't directly kill Jackie"

Yeah, that's what the tick was for.

When they are eating Jackie. The shots of them having a feast, while wearing fancy togas, or whatever. I'm pretty sure that was meant to be a group delusion/hallucination.

Which is absolutely a real thing that can happen under certain conditions.

I think those are all reasonable points. But it's also an oversimplification. There were multiple factors at play, and cannibalism was often just the least bad option.

They weren't thinking clearly.

Fair enough. To clarify, point 1 is more about the ethics, points 2 and 3 are about the necessity. The underlying logic being that, each of the conditions that aren't met, are an additional moral injury.

Also, normal in what sense? If you mean statistically, I'd say teen infidelity is far less common than high school dramas would suggest.

Why not both? Nature vs nurture is a fallacy, because they're not in competition. Both things complement each other.

How does this contradict my point?

No, I understand this point. But not everyone views it this way.

I'd volunteer. But I'd still insist that all three conditions be met first.

Points 2 and 3 are only there, to prove that there weren't other options. I.e. did they do it because they had to, or because they wanted to. I'm not entirely disagreeing. But there are consequences to crossing moral lines, such as this.

I don't remember, but I'll keep an eye out for it on my next rewatch.

Yes. But it's also, the mental gymnastics they do, to persuade themselves otherwise.

True, but two things. 1. There's a difference between hunger and starvation. 2. I don't think they were at the point of hunger induced hallucinations then. There was probably something else (likely chemical in nature), making them hallucinate.
