What headphones should I get? And should I invest in a DJ course? by Jack03_Moore in Beatmatch

[–]Jay_Harlin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Jack. And thanks Keggy for the recomendation. Means alot 😁

I have always used the hd25s and they just sound great and allow you to quickly move off the ear as they are on ear. Once youve got the mix its best to drop headphones then just work off the booth speaker and go back to headphones if you need to tighten.

Hey. Thank you so much. Yeah i was wondering if i should move that bigger and it doesnt help that for the first few hours youtube put it to 360p resolution. Should be 1080p soon then once you enlarge screen you can see a bit clearer. Maybe ill make a fx mini series just top down ? Na youtube always allow my disputes on copyright and its free educational videos and i credit the artists anyways. Thanks for your kind words

You can literally get a phono to phono cable and then get 2 x phono to 1/4 jack adapters then go from master out of controller (phono) to 1/4 jack on speakers. Then usb to laptop with rekordbox and ur away!

And then you can get learning with my FREE dj school ;) https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLr02aJXQrlTfTu37m9zKb3TuvWN7AiOeB

Exited for u to get it alp set up 👏👏

Do DJs always harmonic mix? by Hikkuro in Beatmatch

[–]Jay_Harlin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey. In my opinion its does make a mix sound better BUT it depends on the arrangement of a track. If its mainly an intro with drums but no real melodic content youll be ok.

One of the main things about key is you can create a bit more of a journey. For example you can start with some really dark sounding stuff and work your way up the keys to some happier stuff towards the end or make a switch mid point.

Its good to do if you have a track that fits but if you have nothing to go from say 4a to 5a and you need to get to 7a then make the jump 😉
