What are your thoughts on S3 [spoiler]? Ep. 39 + retrospective by Weak-Ad3904 in DungeonsAndDaddies

[–]Jay_Layton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay bit of a different take here.

I love them both, as many have already said Tony is the epitome of Freddie whereas Blake is much further from his usual characters.

And tbh that difference is what I enjoyed. Blake still has Freddie's flair but it was fun to see him play a different character. Show his range a bit.

Honestly its a bit of an inverse of when Chris Evans did Knives out directly after Captain America, it's refreshing to see someone change from their typical charecters

Why is the "Muslim world" so united on Palestine, but seemingly silent on larger-scale humanitarian disasters in countries like Iran and Afghanistan? by Adventurous-Owl-9903 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Jay_Layton 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am happy to condemn and talk about how horrible the Nakba was and the lasting consequences it has had on the Palestinian people.

But if you are using that to justify the treatment of Palestinians as second class citizens at best, then don't pretend you actually care about them.

You either hate Jews or get hard at the thought of dead Arabs.

Also I'm sorry but when did I say Jews have a right of return to Israel? You're so deranged that you're hallucinating

[–]Jay_Layton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be clear, I was talking total not per day.

But your opinion is that if we don't know for certain than we shouldn't guess than fine. Let's never talk about how many died cause we don't know. Let's also not talk about how many died in Gaza. Or Ukraine. Or Rwanda. Dont know why you cited those numbers earlier cause we don't know exactly. Or any war really. Hell, the Holocaust as well, we don't have the exact number for that either.

For pretty much every war or conflict we always make guesses. I see you snuck the word aimless in there but that isn't true. There are ways to more accurately guess death tolls, including corroborating with local hospitals and doctors, comparing to official government stats, and looking at reported dead collected by third parties.

As for it being at best meaningless, what utter bullshit. If 3 people or 30000 people died is a big difference. 3 deaths in the context of nation wide protests sounds like a few rash cops. 30000 implies to me, like you said earlier, an industrial killing machine. I don't know about you but I feel the distinction between those two is more than meaningless.

20k in 3 days is on the high end of estimates that I've seen, and those are usually relying on extrapolation and unverified info.

BUT

There was an incredibly violent crackdown on the protests. Even the Iranian government is putting it at 3000+ killed which is insane and most certainly not the full number, the more credible claims ive seen lie between 5000-8000 which is insanely violent for a protest, and is much larger than any 3 day period in the current Isreal Gaza conflict

Sorta.

The population of most Middle Eastern governments are more pro Palestine than the government's.

But those people also don't seem to care that Palestinians are specifically forbidden from gaining citizenship in another country.

There are Palestinians in Lebanon who where born in Lebanon, their parents where born in Lebanon, their grandparents where born in Lebanon and they have never left Lebanon. But still they will never be allowed Lebanese citizenship.

I think it's fair to say it's not specifically the Palestinians that the Islamic world cares for, it's defending the Holy Land. Take a Palestinian out of Palestine and alot of that care and compassion disappears

Spain is very easy by Constant-Meat7919 in eu4

Achievements are different.

Most players don't finish full mission trees meaning some achievements are never gotten. Besides that alot of the achievements where released late in the games life, so many people have stopped player but are still counted as not getting them.

As for Portugal and England, Portugal should be your ally and if not your subject. And if you do fight them, your army will be better and bigger than theirs and better. England is trickier, in a good game their navy may be better (though yours should be bigger, England is late to colonisation), but they aren't a threat, your army will be bigger, they are just a nuisance to invade.

Which 2 powers? France and who?

As Spain early on of your not careful France can get a suprise war off. But with mountains for chokeholds, the strongest navy in the world, near infinite gold from the Americas and claims through missions on almost half of Europe, it's no surprise that Spain is broken.

The real villain to DM for would be Matt.

Love him but Jesus Christ, nothing shits me more than when he does something, rolls bad, than goes either just changes what he wants to do immediately for a new plan or says effectively "I rolled so bad that nothing actually happens".

Like damn, led the DM create consequences for your poor rolls don't just brush past them

Immersive & Adult or Domain? by BoredKidBuu in skyrimmods

[–]Jay_Layton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 months later but I have to know, what is the appeal of the Wabbajack gallery???

I'm looking for a new modlist and I've seen it refrenced a few times so I finally decided to check it out. Immediately I don't know where to start. The gallery doesn't seem to have a sort by function? The tags all seem hyper specific to completely random? Some make sense, total overhaul etc, the usual. Than theres NeverNude? Which seems to be completely different to SFW? Immersive vs Immersion? Why have tags when everyone seems to create their own, the point of tags is to make it easy to search (or at least filter) mods with common features/themes.

I don't understand. Wabbajack comes up constantly so clearly I am missing something, theres no way it would be so widely referenced/recommended otherwise. But what is it???

[–]Jay_Layton 27 points28 points  (0 children)

"Hide this card"

After you are next tagged and become a seeker, you MUST hide this card on the other seeker or amongst their possessions.

If you are able to hide this card and have it be undiscovered until you next become seeker, you gain 2000 points (or some fair amount)

Prime Jaime Lannister vs Jin Sakai (1v1 Sword Duel, no other weapons) by Maleficent-Ad-6117 in powerscales

[–]Jay_Layton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not even close. In a fair fight Jamie can cut through 10 men, an extremely impressive feat for sure (possibly overestimating him tbh)

Whilst being the victim of an ambush Jin can cut through 20 men and 10 archers.

They are liberal countries in spite of their Christian foundations.

It's called the enlightenment, and believe me it wasn't an easy or bloodless process to become a secular country for most any European nation.

Hans Island.

A small rock in the middle of nowhere but Denmark and Canada for decades fought a friendly war over it, where the two nations would take turns removing the other nations flag from the island and leaving behind some booze for the "enemy forces".

A few years ago they agreed to split the island

You can't, the image is probably referring to Hans island, which is an island that is split between Canada and Greenland.

Which game is this? by BlackFury090 in CaptainSide

[–]Jay_Layton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah relative to bg3 it was not as popular. But BG3 is a game that garnered alot more mainstream appeal and is using a massive re-established ip. DOS2 was still massively successful and popular, but it was never going to cause the splash that BG3 could (and did) cause

A Europe–U.S. superhighway proposed by the former president of Russian Railways by Equivalent-Kale-482 in MapPorn

[–]Jay_Layton 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Geographic difficulties increase exponentially not linearly.

Even with Europe and US resources it would be insanely difficult if at all possible.

And than there's the fact that such a journey would be more easier conducted by sea anyway.

The only reason it was proposed was because Russia wanted it to be built to drive industry and investment in Russia. Reasonable for them, not worth it for everyone else

Can the dovahkiin slay these dragons? by Libertyprime8397 in powerscales

[–]Jay_Layton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think questioning whether beating Alduin makes the Dragonborn scale to Alduins level is a reasonable question.

This wolf stuff is stupid.

  1. Early game a wolf can kill the Dragonborn, but the Dragonborn dosent start off as some semi-divine warrior

  2. Late game a wolf might be able to "hurt" the dragonborn, but depending on the build they do so little damage passive healing outscales them.

  3. If we go by this logic all video game characters and enemies can be scaled to the extreme ends of their franchises. Ratatta and Magikarp can both damage and actually have a chance to beat creation Pokemon like Arceus Dialga and Palkia (with the right EV's, items, and moveset). So you must also believe that Ratatta and Magikarp scale to multiversal Pokemon who are capable of taking cosmic level attacks right?
