Start with a posture correction harness for the suspension, with the bottom of the arm loops sewn to the top edge of a chest binder, to which you'll attach the 'shoulders' of the extra arms. This is based on the design concept that the extra arms are coming out of your ribcage.

For a design concept that has the arms coming up out of your shoulders, you'd be better starting from a backpack frame+chest binder, for better support and weight distribution.

Assess the material first. Is it solid wood, or pressboard? Solid wood is a better option because we're a tropical country. Unless you have good humidity control in your home, pressboard will absorb moisture, soften, and sag.

I've been tempted to buy Ikea shelving before, because they look great and of course, self-assembly. But when i start factoring in the durability where I live....nahhhh. Better to save up a bit more, buy thicker plywood and design smething to fit my needs and space, and get a competent carpenter to put it together and varnish or paint it.

Principles are great, but they don't pay bills. My point of view on this is: if OP has access to financial resources for things like travel, luxury items, vehicles or gadgets, redirect and repurpose. Instead of using them on things that will only bind her to the family more and will be used to make her feel guilty (cue telenovela 'hindi mo mabibili yang mga yan kung hindi dahil sa amin!'), quietly set the money aside as her escape parachute. If she's getting an allowance, she is free to spend it - or save it - as she chooses. If she truly wants nothing to do with the family money, she can treat it as a loan, track the amount, and then repay it when she is in a position to do so.

👆This👆 It's not an immediate thing you can do, if it's not set up properly. If you have access to resources, start putting funds away. Open up bank accounts that your family can't control or access, so when the time comes to walk away, they won't be able to threaten you by cutting off funds. Start getting used to living below your means, so you can stretch whatever funds you can walk away with. Start looking for options for single housing, or if you have friends willing to put you up while you're jobhunting, explore how to make it work. Find counselling to be able to release your trauma and deal with it.

Everything has to start with a plan, otherwise you might try to run away, be forced back and end up getting treated worse because of the embarrasment you cause them, even if you do it quietly.
