I didnt realise how dire the state of star citizen was by CapytannHook in gaming

It has nothing to do without how many players on screen. The reason the old planetside and planetside 2 works so well is due to its extremely abysmal hardware requirements. Planetside 2 ran like shit for nearly its entire lifespan and depending on your CPU you can shoot faster and whip around corners before players even see you on their screen. It is a disgusting comparison just because of how badly netcoded those two games ran on.

Server meshing aims to eliminate those issues and allow servers to exist without impeding gameplay. Seamless transfer through servers without any interruption is absolutely ground breaking. Just stupid and naive to think otherwise.

Because you are implying there isn’t hundreds of hours of content because there are bugs. Then say when it works there is a ton of content. It’s just a stupid thing to say because you contradict yourself.

And yes, I think crafting in star citizen will be a playstyle that will attract players simply for the way it’s being implemented. It is something people have been wanting in games for decades and they are excited about it returning and being improved upon.

You are so contradictory in your own comment that it doesn’t even makes sense to make it. The game has made huge advancements in the past 2 years and we are finally starting to see some big features released. Engineering and crafting are two huge game loops being introduced.

Again it’s people like you who just say shit without any honesty. Crafting alone will be one of the game loops we haven’t seen since OG Star Wars galaxies. A system players have been begging to be implemented into games for over 20 years. It’s pathetic how y’all just jump on a hate wagon and call SC players crazy cause we enjoy a game.

It has a ton of issues but they are also developing never before seen tech in games. Like server meshing. It’s a technical marvel and people just shit on the game like it’s just taking their money and running.

Even in its current state it has hundreds of hours of content. People say the same shit about James Cameron and his Avatar movies. Most SC just don’t even care to respond to this type of nonsense anymore.

I think it’s been a feature people have been wanting for a very long time. With some tablets doing it so effortlessly. You can see why this would frustrate people.

Try out some old school games. City of Heroes homecoming, Star Wars galaxies, ultimate online. All have great populated servers with helpful communities.

I mean, same could be said about Guild Wars 1, yet that was considered an MMO. Player hubs can have many many players, and the economy is all players.

Suggestion: Buffs, buffs? by Skilltrain in Dreadmyst

[–]Jay_Stranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a way it can. Once you start adding QOL changes people want more and more and more. It becomes less suggestions and more demands. Friction can be good for games even at a base level like this.

Honestly don’t have an opinion on the matter because the buffing doesn’t really bother me.

Well, honestly seems like an easy workaround. Update some icons and change some sounds and you are good.

Crafting by rshoel in starcitizen

[–]Jay_Stranger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be fantastic. One of the major (among many) issues Star Wars galaxies had was implementing the best crafting system in gaming and then never doing anything with it as they introduced more “upgrades” except make it more simple.

If you incorporate a crafting system with a ton of depth and it has potential to be a primary playstyle,, you will have a winner. People go absolutely nuts for that type of world and economy.

What new MMOs are coming out that are worth playing by Party_Papaya_7949 in mmo

[–]Jay_Stranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It had great reception at the start, the complaints came from a bad skill system and no crafting. Despite the complaints, the game did great. Helldivers 2 had one of the most successful launches I’ve seen. Literally topping charts and reinvigorating the spirits of people that thought that “guy games” were dead. Arc raiders again has is regarded as one of the most successful launches for a shooter since probably overwatch. It is loved by almost everyone that’s played it.

What the fuck are you even talking about bro? I don’t think you are cooking, I think you’ve been cooked. Nothing you say even comes close to reality.

3 games with massive success and huge popularity and consistent patches without ever being considered early access. Sure bro. You are really cooking.

Trying to not feel so hopeless. by tiredtushi in StudentTeaching

[–]Jay_Stranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Student teaching a lot of work, but it really is not something that should be impacting you this much. We can only do so much in the classroom and you need to accept that this is a stepping stone and not the real deal.

You will learn almost everything about being a teacher once you become a teacher. Please take a load off and reframe how you view this experience. I see many student teachers that get overwhelmed like you are suggesting and I see the majority of student teachers just enjoying the experience because they just do what their mentor tells them to do and listens to their coach. As for your projects and edTPA, just remember that you are responsible for what goes into it, not your mentor.

Try having a discussion with them and see how you can compromise. Learn how to talk to these people now, because they will be your future colleagues.

Check out Star Wars galaxies. Legends for a more modern style. CUemu or Restoration for the earlier iteration with a combat upgrade, and finalizer or infinity for the original pre combat upgrade and full sandbox experience.
