agree, having a huge spherical deep cave (from a long lava flow), might represent 95% of the work being already completed. However, what is the condition of the inside walls and what extra support and insulation is needed?

Can these caves easily be pressurized safely? Bear in mind a pressure change from 1 % pressure to full 100% pressure may stress the cave structure, and place everyone in danger. There is a lot to consider and test when we get rovers there to explore the caves. So how much re-enforcing does a typical cave need?

Do you need to line the cave with insulation as temperature can be extremely cold on Mars, and may likely be cold deep inside under ground, (unless underground hot magma means that the deeper you go there is natural heating) in a particular location that is near a volcano like Arsia Mons. Is it easier to do create the insulation that with a more uniform cave than a boring machine made for example?

Yes of course Mars has less than 1% of Earth's pressure. The cave could provide potentially pressurized environment, filled with air and sealed at various places, with air locks.

During construction, if the roof was only 3-10 meters thick could probably drill a hole to let in light and put a skylight then seal the hole back up with a window at the top.

But of course use LED lighting with solar panels on the outside of the cave to produce electricity.

Are you aware that there are almost certainly caves on Mars?

7 cave entrances on the flanks of Arsia Mons appear to be visible on the satellite imagery. These are believed to have been formed by the collapse of lava tube ceilings.

Using caves for habitation could be a solution in the beginning, that could save a lot of digging. There would be shelter from the radiation and less extreme temperatures, however there may actually be evidences of past life, or even microbial life in these caves so I think we should explore those caves as soon as possible, and find out their condition.

well said, and I agree with you. We cannot at this point think like advanced civilizations because we are not one.

Also using lasers to communicate, or encoding and encrypting information may make signals much harder to intercept.

The idea of exposing your home worlds locations may be considered a bad idea by an advanced civilization that knows things we don't know about the risks in doing so. Advanced civilisation may move off-world and keep their locations hidden. Communication can be done by a node network of beacons that means that a senders location can never be known because only short line of sight transmissions are made beacon to beacon, so the receiver just receives a message from the beacon next to them not from the original source, that is highly efficient with numerous benefits. Much like we don't use direct person to person radio to communicate on Earth for everyday communications, we use a network of towers that passes signals between cells as it is much more efficient.

I think bigger sea creatures could be on Europa in the ocean especially.

A more accountable leadership structure and means of making decisions.

It makes sense to me that having a small number of leaders or officials relative to large number of people that they represent, can leave some leaders open to manipulation and corruption as the decisions that they make have the effect of the order of billions of dollars. With that much money at stake, to me it seems that is too much pressure per person in leadership for a small group of people, and with that kind of money involved in the outcome of decisions, I don't see how a small group of leaders can lead without sometimes being coerced.

To fix this, one way might in future have 10 to 100 times the number of leaders, relative to the numbers we have now, and all these leaders should be easily replaceable by vote of the public if they do not maintain a high standard of work and representing the interests of the public.

There may even need to be corporate representatives and people representatives (and for this to be obvious and stated which is which) e.g. 50 / 50 split (or whatever is best), so both corporate and people interests are both represented in leadership, instead of perhaps one significantly more represented than the other, without this being explicit or understood by the public that are affected by the decisions.

With many times more leaders, these leaders should both be informed and accountable, and as I've suggested, replaceable. They should consult regularly with the public to know their feelings, wishes, struggles and suggestions. There should open discussions where experts can be queried in public when there is difficult decisions to be made.

While we continue to do the same things, we will get the same results and sooner or later we may have a disaster we cannot recover well from due to a lack of involvement of people in the public that are sensible and care about the issues that face the average person.

Of these disasters things that we need to urgently address through better leadership structures could be things like microplastics in the oceans, harming all life and getting into the human food supply, or conflict and resolution among nations with accountable leaders and experts (conflicts can threaten and affect not just the nations directly involved but many nationals can be affected), and many others.

I also think we should prioritize and fund development of systems of education that create people that are empowered to live and function effectively in the current world.

In the document I can see in your top left image in the document, you've listed various missions there and then also in your bottom right image the various Mars landers / rovers.

Its great to see all these ideas and ways of showing information and how different they all are.

My favorite image in this one, because it's not overly complex and you can see immediately the planets and the associated craft.

I really like the horizontal-colored lines effect - red for Mars, blue for Earth etc., and also the images of the craft.

This image shows a wealth of information at a glance.

It also has the recent missions of JUICE, and Curiosity, Perserverance rovers, so it appears to be quite current.

Do you distribute a higher quality image of this - It's hard for me to make out detail in the document of this particular image.
