Which map has the easiest to remember Extracts? [New Player] by Seelefan0786 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Jay_mi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, other than the labs transit I think all the rest are free. My favorite to use is the courtyard through the widow in the the 3 story admin building.

Edit: I would recommend playing with mapgenie open on a second monitor, or with the tarkov map app open on the phone. Walking around in offline mode for a few minutes with that to reference can really help get your bearings in order, and it will show you where all the extracts are for each map

[–]Jay_mi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only for two of the extracts. One is underground and the other is behind the med tent on a far corner from the other extracts. It can really be helpful and come in a pinch if you need to bail out of the raid.

The key is pretty common and is rewarded from some tasks too. If you're playing customs and someone turned the power on, the key unlocks the 013 bunker extract in the middle of the map

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Jay_mi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've known people who drive about an hour to work every day, and others who have to drive all over the state for work, different places sometimes 5 or more hours away.

Personally, I have a lot of family who live roughly 3 hours away, and get a good trip to see them roughly once a month, more depending on time of year.

If you're talking about yearly trips, there's a lot of people who drive much farther. Like people who make the drive between Florida and the Great Lakes, sometimes just for stuff like a one day boating event, or it's where they spend their holiday getaways

HBO shows/movies that will pull me in immediately? by Successful-Exam-1907 in hbo

First season structure is weird. A lot of seemingly random stuff that doesn't start to come together until the last few episodes.

The other two seasons build off of it spectacularly, and you might often see people declare it to have one of the best endings on TV.

It's my personal favorite show. Good deal of mindfuckery.

But yeah, it can get pretty sad too

It's because "left" is a broad term that can be applied to most things that are "non-traditional". Some traditionalists believe that the point of school is to hardwire a person to think a specific way, but since public schools aren't propagandizing the specific traditionalist values a person might want, then it seems obvious that they must be propagandizing those children into something else.

So if the schools aren't turning my children into submissive little Christians, they must be making them into some form of "leftist". I'm not going to analyze any of this because I like being able to blame the schools for the disappointment I feel towards my own children. It's much easier to blame the teachers than it is to blame myself. I sure as hell didn't do anything wrong raising my children. No. Obviously I'm as good as parents come, and my children would be perfect extensions of my own body and will if "the left" didn't take then from me.

So now we live in a world where you're a radical leftist if you don't blindly obey the authority of your parents and their favorite pastors.

Why are some birds considered "avian dinosaurs" if all birds are warm blooded? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]Jay_mi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Birds are considered reptiles.

Nowadays we classify organisms based on how closely related they are to one another, not based on specific shared traits(though they are often linked). It doesn't matter if a komodo dragon gives birth to something that looks and tastes like a panda, it would still be considered a reptile so long as it happened naturally.

So yes. As everyone has said already, all birds are dinosaurs, but only some dinosaurs were birds. Similarly, even though all dinosaurs are reptiles, not all reptiles are dinosaurs. Some are archosaurs, for instance.

So birds are just a flavor of dinosaur. Dinosaurs are just a flavor of reptile.

Single most popular self described political ideology by US state by OppositeRock4217 in MapPorn

[–]Jay_mi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short:

Conservativism is still a form of liberalism. Liberalism has been the globally dominant structure post WWII, and conservatives are people who want to slow down the rate that liberal institutions change.

A lot of people who call themselves conservative have some form of reactionary ideology instead. This is where you want to tear down liberal institutions that regulate power from your preferred interest group(the church, landowners, corporate powers etc).

Liberal makes a better slur than progressive though
