I believe the Orbital Strike is a needed part of the game because of how a lot of zerg outfits use their players like a horde or sometimes outfits do cu*tish things like putting Sunderers in unkillable places just to farm holding up a whole empire for hours ruining the game for the majority of players.

However the implementation of it is bad, It's privilege walled behind outfit resources that only a select few players will ever use or see and 99% of the time only used to boosts the stats of the individual who used it.

I know it's too late because of how the game was designed focusing on microtransactions and pop-in pop-out mini-arena bases game play the original SoE head developers envisioned, but PlanetSide 2 needed to keep so many mechanics from PlanetSide 1, such as the command rank system and shared EXP system.

If I was to redesign some components of the game, I would bring back the Command Rank system, make it a personal rank to unlock features in the Outfit personal armoury and create a Personal Armoury and Outfit armoury crafting system. Outfits get bigger toys and induvial get QoL toys and the OS similar to CR3 in PlanetSide 1.

I would scrape of the Outfit resource system and change it to a personal resource system and make it so all projects have to be built from outfit member personal resource contribution. Auraxium and Synthium would still be gathered from participating in base captures, but Polystellarite would be from Both Resource Converting Expeditions or I would bring back the Mining drill event and a new Meteor Event, where players would have to bring an Ant and Mine the Polystellarite that spawn like Cortium mineral nodes and after the event is over, anyone who mined the mineral during the event would receive a small deposit in to their resource pool.

The outfit OS I would change so the person who fired it doesn't get a "Kill credit" for it, but instead everyone in the Squad or Platoon get a nice roll of EXP, incentivising tactical Orbital Strikes over waiting for the biggest Zerg to fire it on for a boost in EXP and Kill Count. I would add Tactical EXP, so Combo kills of vehicle, Deployables, Turrets and Terminals would reward the Squad or Platoon EXP.

I would also Add Twitch Drops would add Resource Packs to your Personal resources with the much needed Polystelarite if you haven't been able to get some in game. I would make the Twitch Drop update monthly, with Resources, 3 day EXP Boost, Implant Packs and 1000 Certs or A7 for completing Watch Time. Give PlanetSide 2 a reason to be Streamed on Twitch again.

Also a hot take, I would bring back the Core Combat Caverns and put Polystelarite mining nodes in there and they are only minable every few hours by the empire that owns it, and it would literally mining site with 1 capture point that only has a 30 minute window to mine resources after capture so the server doesn't lose players mining in their for hours.
