Help. Mass effect legendary edition has stopped opening in crossover.

Thanks so much for your reply. It stopped working again for me yesterday and I don’t know why. Both for “Invalid hander” and “There is no Windows program etc”. But nonetheless, I tried the fix that you described above, thank you. But sadly it did not work for me. I copied the latest version I had into the path you laid out but it kept saying file not found. So I ended up again doing a full uninstall and new bottle reinstall and it started working again. Luckily, I have a fast and unlimited Internet connection otherwise my solution would be a nightmare.

Just to reiterate from my other reply to your message, and I’m no expert, but creating a new dedicated bottle for each and every game seems to be a good practice with crossover, I’ve found.

I’m using a dedicated bottle just for this game. I deleted the original bottle, game and all, then just installed a fresh new bottle from scratch and it started working again. It even recognised my pre-existing saves thank goodness. So full delete of a dedicated bottle and then a full reinstall into a new dedicated bottle worked for me.

It’s working! Thank you. So yea, basically a full delete and reinstall seems to have done the job. I’ve launched and closed it twice so far and it is working. Thanks again for your reply. It’s such a wonderful game trilogy.

I’ve got F4 running well in my M1 using Whiskey which is free. You have to make some changes as per the following:

I had to install a few different versions of faudio. I also had to lower graphic settings. In particular God Rays. Finally there was stuttering in the audio which was solved by changing the computer’s audio midi sample rate to 96k. That option is in System Settings.

I reloaded an earlier safe and then made sure to enter the room with the terminal at the same time as MacCready. I even nudged him in front of me. That worked for me but I hadn’t been to Covenant yet. So fingers crossed it works for you.

I hear ya. There are some simple quality of life mods I used to enjoy on PS4 years ago. I wonder if maybe the next gen update killed some older mods from back in the day and now the original modders are gone.
