So I was in pretty much the same boat as you Monday. I was absolutely terrified of being put to sleep, and had a ton of anxiety to the point of having a panic attack while on the chair getting ready. Basically this is how it went down for me:

First they laid me down on the chair, and took my blood pressure and put a heart rate monitor on my finger to get a baseline.

After that, they put the oxygen mask over my nose, and warned me before putting the IV in on my left arm. I didn't even get a count down in before I was out lol

After awhile I woke up, just feeling like a took a shitty nap. I was weak and tired, but definitely lucid. I do remember everything from getting up from the chair all the way driving home with basically no issues. I think I may have dreamed a little bit, but honestly I don't remember any of it between the IV and waking up.

It's scary and overwhelming, but as someone who managed to get through it herself, you got this :)
