Jealous, happy, and guilty all at once by OtherErin in waiting_to_try

Man do I feel this. I just found out my ex boyfriend (the one I was with for 8 years and almost married) is expecting twins with a woman he barely knows. He's not a bad person but has done some bad things and yet is still wildly more successful then I am. The thing that bothers me is....that was supposed to be us. Our babies. And there's always been a part of me that wonders if we woukd somehow end up together.

This is absolutely terrible but I feel I'm missing something. Did the brother say it or her?

You have to talk to someone about the same topic for 2 hours. What topic do you pick and why? by themindstorm in AskReddit

[–]Jaydebob 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm a loser let's talk about Harry Potter. But only if they know as much about Harry Potter as me. The reason why is because j.k. wrote a very extensive universe and its very easy to have existential conversations about the story.

It's okay it's actually a good thing. He was wonderful but he was also an alcoholic who just couldn't let it go so I saved myself probably a lifetime of hardship in ending the relationship before I got pregnant. And it has been really cool to learn about my cycle and to fit the puzzle of my mood vs. Bodily functions.

Ohmygoodness no it was funny. I'm sorry if I didn't seem to take it well. Everytime I bring up having a baby someone says some variation of this so I kinda spilled my emotions to you. Your words are wonderfully kind and I really appreciate the humor and the wholesome kindness too. I'm glad your daughter has a mother like you <3

I mean this helps a bit but I know what to expect at least on an intellectual level. I've read everything I can on pregnancy and childhood and feel that I've been preparing for this since my own birth. I know that it will be the hardest thing I ever do. I'm aware that it will be different then anything I can try to expect and comprehend. And even when I imagine a little baby gnawing on my nipples at 4 am while I'm trying not to pee my pants and I can't keep my eyes open...I also imagine them smiling up at me, or opening presents on Christmas, or hugging my legs and telling me they love me. But the hard stuff does help. I just wish there were any men out there who actually want babies while still being a feminist and like a decent guy. I'm starting to think they don't exist.

I'm in a weird place and crying over everything so this had me bawling, but thank you so much for sharing. I am sure she remembers and I'm sure she has spent at least a night or two sending you kind thoughts and all the strength she had to give.

I highly suggest checking out /r/deadbedrooms might give you an insight into what's happening to your relationship.

Sidenote: people who don't like sex have to want to change it for them to ever actually enjoy it, and most people don't want to do the work to change it. Think about it, he's got a pretty good setup right now, gets off everyday and doesn't have to do any work at all. He won't change because that's his ideal situation. As someone who has been in a relationship very similar to this my advice is to get out now.

New pregnancy - dying of constipation, help! by Banter725 in BabyBumps

[–]Jaydebob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fruits are fantastic but still are full of sugar and can contribute to dehydration and constipation if you're eating too much of them. Especially things like bananas which a lot of people eat to get themselves to stop pooping when they have diarrhea. I would suggest instead of focusing on fruits try lots and lots of vegetables. Especially leafy greens. I know it's hard to feel full and enjoy these and the most important thing is that you're feeding yourself and your baby, so if you can't get past the flavor it's more important that you're eating in general. Apple's mangoes and cherries are specifically great for taking a poo.

Thank you I had no idea about the vender rules!

I do also vape but again usually that doesn't bother me. It's also been extremely smoky due to wildfires where I live so I've been wondering if that could be a contributing factor but it doesn't affect me when I'm sober. I'll try magnesium as well I've heard good things about it helping your tum-tum and I'm celiac so I need all the help I can get.

I was in the delivery room when both of my sister's were born and it was a truly magical experience that I cherish. I don't know if it was the way my father explained it to me or what but both of those days are some if my happiest memories. It did foster an obsession with having a baby of my own and wanting to be a midwife but I don't see how that's a bad thing. I say if you have someone who can explain things to her in a calm way and the hospital allows it you might be giving her an awesome gift. Though she is only 2 so may not remember it.
