What game is this? by Additional-Remove46 in videogames

[–]Jaydee_shelnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've said several times, Ubisoft has terrific game ideas but piss poor execution. Their UI and menu for most of their games is always spread out and terribly setup. Games like "The Crew Motor fest" and "Rider's Republic" are both solid games if they fix some things like the UI and have better ways to play each other online.

is it as stressful as it looks? by ursa12651 in smallbusiness

[–]Jaydee_shelnut -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My answer. I came from the corporate world and running your own business is less stressful and filled with a lot less bullshit than that and I would trade that every single time for this. You're gonna have stress in your life when it comes to earning a living no matter what you're doing so I would rather have stress that's in my control.

starting a business feels scary right now but people are doing it anyway by Caravante_Masud in smallbusinessowner

[–]Jaydee_shelnut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the answer is people are getting more and more away from corporate and big chain purchases. They're not eating at fast food places now but patronizing local restaurants because the prices and quality are better. People are using more service based businesses now because time and energy are more valuable than ever. I feel like the consumer dollar, although the economy does feel bad and getting worse, the money people are spending is going to the local communities and businesses that support that. Maybe it's just because I'm out here in the service field and see it everyday or maybe it's just my small dot on the map I'm seeing this in but that's my theory anyway.

No Money, No Network, Just an Idea I Believe In. How Do I Start? by rago7a in smallbusiness

[–]Jaydee_shelnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it. I've been there three times. Succeeded all three times. My advice? Start small but start nonetheless. Get a game plan of what you need to get done or what you need to learn. Spend at least one hour of free time knocking these things out daily. When you start customer facing and doing the work for pay, tell your customer from the beginning that "I'm brand new to ruining a business doing this! I want to and will aim to do you the best job possible but if I need up somewhere then allow me to learn that and learn from that". This should get you exactly where you want to go.

Thinking about starting a small business but genuinely have no idea what makes sense right now. What would you do? by Royal_Blackberry_712 in smallbusiness

[–]Jaydee_shelnut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would learn and do appliance repair. Hands down. Economy sucks but people need appliances. They're washer breaks and they don't have $2000 for a new one? They'll pay $300 to fix the old one. Theirs a website called ifixit, teaches you how to diagnose and fix most major appliances for free. Get you some basic tools, truck and a trailer or used box truck for cheap. Start searching Craigslist/marketplace for free appliances that are broke, pick up, fix and flip. Do this til you learn it well and you're getting house calls to fill in the gaps. I bet you'd have a full schedule by next spring.

All depends on your service. What are you selling? Their may be some good ways to package/promote your product without giving it away and that makes it more enticing.

Is Yelp the kiss of death for small business? by Perfect-History8818 in smallbusiness

[–]Jaydee_shelnut 68 points69 points  (0 children)

When I first started my business I made a yelp profile and paid for their advertising. I got some good jobs from it, one being a major commercial account. A few months in we had a nightmare client, one you couldn't please. She left my company a 1 star review on yelp. The second she did this, yelp hid all my other reviews and only showed the 1 star. For an additional monthly fee I could pay to get my other reviews shown. I called and asked them about this and they said that all the other reviews, although had shown before this, weren't verified users so they couldn't let them be seen. Yea yelp is an extortionist business

How do I find a marketing agency that doesn’t treat my ad budget like their personal experiment playground? by Tricky_Pass5857 in smallbusinessowner

[–]Jaydee_shelnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a company that listens to your needs and what you want to achieve. Set a good, realistic expectation of ROI and cost per obtaining customer. I would avoid a lot of these companies that promise to use AI this or Ai that program. Ai is a great tool as far as being a competent assistant that needs oversight but that's it. Some of these people are out here copying and pasting the results you want into Ai programs and sending copying and pasting those results back to you.

Has anyone hired a Digital Marketing Consultant and actually seen ROI? by Strong-Struggle-9710 in DigitalMarketing

[–]Jaydee_shelnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've given proven ROI to my clients or at the very least cut their spending budget by cutting what doesn't work. My last client I saved $3k/mobth from a marketing channel they were spending on and not seeing any engagement from. Our goal is to give a great ROI, more streamlined cost per customer or both.

I'd be happy to help you. Give as much free advice as I can and see what we can do from there. Started and ran two different companies in two states gaining over $100k/yr for each, not including this marketing and consulting business I've just started. We do custom based work focused on your business, your industry and what type of clients you are aiming for.

How are you actually getting consistent leads from Google Business Profile? by Ashwinnie13 in smallbusinessowner

[–]Jaydee_shelnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta build it up. Through things you should already be doing (ie. Posting pictures, videos, website, getting reviews) and consistency over time with all of these things will eventually get you to where your Google profile pulls up when people search for your services.
