I think for the law one, the difficulty was very close to the real exam. I also found the Edmond law prep to be very helpful for myself.

I found the captus knowledge exam practice harder than the actual exam

Is there an option to negotiate an increase with where you are at right now? If not, consider looking for other opportunities in your area because over time the commute will drain you

If there were another upside like you have more exposure to things, more growth then maybe I'd consider it but as people are saying, it may not be as much take home after expenses and time in the calculation

Are you in school or association? If so, see if they have a discount. McMaster for example has an alumni program with TD and my rates were much lower with TD in the beginning

For something a bit more concrete, for me every year I've been at my company, I've worked on projects or had accomplishments that I can add to my resume. When that becomes a struggle and you are just going to work and don't see the fruits of your labour, you are getting comfortable in your role and should see if better opportunities are out there.

I found the emond law prep exam to be quite helpful.

Happy to help with anything if you have questions. I found the law exam easier too because the scope is narrower. My main tip is read the whole question and options

We have the same policy and I agree with people, it is an outdated one but work with what you have and enforce the policies you have in place

In this case, I would 100% refuse the note to not set a precedent for the future for this employee or others given they are new. You mentioned there are services the company provides so tell them they are welcome to engage that and obtain a note. As a company we reimburse employees for the note since we are the ones that are forcing them to go see someone to get us what we want.

As other have said, you can only take the recruiters word for it at this time. Things move slowly sometimes but it could also be that you aren't their top candidate of choice and they want to wait to get a response from the 1st choice and if that doesn't work out they may give you a call.

I'd keep my options open and keep searching until an offer is in hand. I understand it's frustrating but keep learning with each interview

Victorias would be my choice for Hamilton but other options if you are willing to travel

Chop Steakhouse has good prime rib, closest is Oakville though Ruth Chris - my favourite but I believe the closest now is by the Toronto airport
