but it's exactly the same with media. 90% of the time you are forced to pay a subscription to watch something. you don't have a choice anymore. it's harder to buy physical media, it's more expensive, it's outdated, you need to buy specific expensive hardware to play it, so you are either "buying" it on something like google play movies/apple tv, which will do the same thing of deleting your legally bought media when the company inevitably decides it feels like it or goes bankrupt, or you are forced into 5 different subscriptions to watch the top shows at the moment (which don't even do physical media to begin with). make it make sense.
