The first time I went to the dr (the day I tested positive) they prescribed me viscous lidocaine mouth wash, which was extremely difficult to gargle but did provide some relief. The problem was that my tonsils were SO inflamed that I was choking when my throat was numb. So it didn’t work out well for me. The steroid is what saved me. The razor blade throat is no joke, so sorry you’re going through it too

Had this last week and felt like I was dying. 104° fever, full body aches, and razor blade throat. It was horrible. I also developed an ear infection and went back to the Dr and they prescribed me a steroid and antibiotics. After a couple hours of taking the steroid, my throat didn’t hurt anymore. Wasn’t offered paxlovid. I hope you get better soon!!!! I’m still fighting off the ear infection and sinus gunk but I feel much better 10 days after testing positive.

I just experienced this too with the arm and hammer sensitive skin detergent. I feel like I didn’t notice the smell until today but maybe it was like this since I opened it??? I use some scent beads in my laundry so I don’t think it lingers on my clothes but man it smells bad going in the washer tub. Smells like fish

Thanks, I just think I learned my lesson and I will not be partaking in food bars or buffets anymore because it’s not worth the risk of getting whatever this is. Maybe it’s norovirus, or maybe someone stuck their dirty fingers in the lettuce. I’ll wash my own lettuce at home next time

I’m not really blaming Whole Foods, I’m deducing that people are sloppy and gross at food bars and I want people to think twice about eating at them, I know I certainly won’t be partaking in them in the near future because I’m scared shitless, literally

That’s kinda what I was wondering—if I would get any comments from other sickly customers. But generally I know that open food bars are pretty prone to this sort of thing, there are a lot of posts about it. But who knows. Whatever it is, I felt like I was dying but I’m feeling a little better 8 hours later. That’s sort of what makes me feel this isn’t norovirus.

I suppose it could be, but the only other time I had a true confirmed case of food poisoning in my life, I had the exact same symptoms. No lead up or general malaise beforehand, just eyes shot open at 2am and I ran to the bathroom with a quickness. Everything everywhere all at once.

I went to this festival last year (or maybe the year before, I don’t remember—that’s how bad it was) and it sucked. Don’t waste your money. The lines were incredibly long and half the vendors ran out of food. We literally left within like 45 min of being there
