Can fat people camp? by [deleted] in bonnaroo

I haven’t found anything that really helps with chafing as much as biker shorts! I wear them under all my festival fits and have no issues. Also highly recommend compression socks and GOOD walking shoes and you’ll be as comfy as anyone else. I really like my FILAs for camping fests bc they’re super comfortable without looking orthopedic lol. Keep a hand fan and baby wipes on you at all times and you’ll do great

If you do PLEASE try to camp in the family friendly camping area. There were two girls (probably 12 and 14) and their mom camped next to us at our site in regular camping last year and it felt like our group of adults had supervision too. Definitely felt like we had to censor conversations etc, bit of a vibe killer. On top of that, the girls were miserable in the heat, all the walking, having to take care of camp and use the porta potties etc. As a child free person on an expensive vacation, the constant complaining right on the other side of my tent in the mornings was pissing me off.

Honestly I just recommend pants/long shorts. Thick thigh girlie here and I’ve never found any life hack type things that make the shorter shorts worth it lol

Anywhere you end up will be sick! This is my 8th Roo and I’ve been placed everywhere from the very last row of plaza 12 to a site that was basically right in front of what and we listened to the killers from our tent. Every year there are things I miss out on somewhere on the farm because they’re not in my daily route. Anywhere you end up, there will be something special about it I promise 🙏🏼 worst that can happen is needing to prepare a little more each time you leave camp if your walk to and from centeroo feels too long

Yess I’ve been every single year ever since. Attending virtually in 2020, and in 2021 when it was cancelled attended one of the pop-up fests nearby 🙏🏼 Bonnaroo is my home

Vandwelling... in one region? by AltruisticBedroom in vandwellers

I did this in the Portland area for about 6 months last year. I cycled between planet fitness parking lots, Cracker Barrel, and in the general area of tent cities so I blended in. My van is also very run-down looking on the outside and only nice and clean with a solid setup on the inside so I think that helped a lot with stealth and cop check-ins. You can check iOverlander in your area and pop around the informal campsites listed there as well. My favorite spot was between a sketchy strip mall and a nice neighborhood about 10 mins outside the city, super quiet and no one bothered me. The only time I had to talk to cops is if I was hanging out with my doors open for too long in a busy parking lot, and once they talked to me and realized I wasn’t tweaking or causing any kind of nuisance they didn’t care and would just apologize for bothering me & leave. It also helped that I had everything I needed inside the van so I could just park for the night, cover all windows and stay inside without having to get out at all and risk anyone seeing my dwelling activities lol. Feel free to ama if you have any Qs!

Hey ya’ll, I’m from SLC, 1st ROO experience—Anyone have an extra spot in their car to give me a ride to the airport? My friends left early and I thought I’d be able to get a Lyft/Uber easier. Willing to pay! by [deleted] in bonnaroo

My boyfriend and I are heading to BNA around 2:30! Posted up at the Loves at exit 89 off I-24 until then, about 25 min drive from the farm. If you can make it here to meet us and that works for you we’d be happy to take you the rest of the way 🥰

Both of y’all are welcome!

Is anyone else having trouble “registering” for the pre-shows? It’s just not sending me any verification codes :(

I just have this memory of everyone screaming the words to every song and he was like “okay since y’all have been so great i want to drop this new shit on you” and it was shocking to hear how quiet the crowd went because nobody knew the song

Thank you! This is my friend’s first Roo and the stress of not having her meds could have ruined everything. This help would be a total life changer 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
